Οικογένεια Πορτοκάλη O Παππούς Kostantinos, Portokali, Greece His son George and wife Eleni Their son Kosta Their daughter Anastasia, her husband Peter and their daughter Eleni (up to 150 words) Our family left Greece in 1960 from the village of Portokali. My mother and father and eldest brother boarded an airplane and settled in Toronto. Over the years my father would often say “the portokalia from Portokali would fill the valley with a beautiful irresistible fragrance!” My father left behind my grandfather though we visited him at least once every two years. He was a wonderful man whose eyes would fill with tears each time he said “adio” to us! What wonderful days we had with him. He left us in 1985 and my father stayed true to the vision of building a better life in Canada for his family. Both my father and mother worked very hard in our family business. Now my parents are grandparents and my children will grow to know of their heritage – their grandfather, their great-grandfather and all the relatives that made us who we are today!
