Friday, May 29th 6 - 10 pm
At the 2015 “meet and greet” you will not only have the chance
to talk one-on-one your instructors and other fire department legends, but you will have the once in a lifetime experience to meet
the men featured in the documentary film “The Bronx is Burning.”
This unique record of firefighting history was filmed in the Bronx
during the war years. The Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo Foundation is
proud to have retired legends Captain Bob Farrell, Ladder 31; Captain Lou Andrade, Eng. Co. 82; Lieutenant Charlie McCarthy, Ladder 31; and Deputy Chief Tom Kennedy, Ladder Co 31. You’ll be
able to ask the men of “La Casa Grande” what it was like to be a
firefighter in the South Bronx in the 60’s and 70’s, the busiest era
in firefighting history.
Our instructors and fire service leaders like John Salka, Vinnie
Dunn, Mike Dugan, Ed Kilduff, Mark Gregory, and many more will
be there to talk with you and show their support for the Foundation.
