“You are
DAV I D I RV I N G I N V I T ES ...
summoned to
the Führer’s
Headquarters!”
Hermann Göring inspects the damaged map table at the Wolf ’s
Lair. SS Gruppenführer Hermann Fegelein, Luftwaffe General
Karl Koller, and Hitler’s adjutant Julius Schaub stand by.
Mysteries of
the Wolf’s Lair
on july 20, 1944, German Army traitors attempted to
kill Adolf Hitler by placing a suitcase bomb under his
conference table at Rastenburg. Three of his staff were
killed but he escaped with head injuries. Army doctors
X-rayed his head at a nearby hospital. Was Field Marshal
Rommel implicated? What about Hermann Göring?
He not only headed Hitler’s air force but controlled the
all-powerful wiretap agency, the Forschungsamt. Absent
like Heinrich Himmler when the bomb went off, Göring
hurried over to inspect the damaged table. Can he really
have been in the dark about the plot? What did Himmler
know? His Gestapo had their eyes and ears everywhere.
Hitler made his favourite general, Erwin Rommel, a Field Marshal in June 1942. In November Rommel visited the Wolf ’s Lair after the
Alamein defeat. Hitler’s adjutants Gerhard Engel (far left) and Nicholas von Below (below right) considered his loyalty above question.
Summoned to the Wolf ’s Lair, his headquarters at Rastenburg, East Prussia,
now part of Poland. Hitler with his top officers Hermann Göring (above)
and Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler (below).
SAID Mr Justice Gray at the end of the three-month trial of
the Deborah Lipstadt libel action in 2002: “David Irving’s
knowledge of World War II is unparalleled.”
Let noted historian David Irving personally
show you round Hitler’s secret World War II
headquarters:
“The Wolf’s Lair”
FOR REAL HISTORY buffs, the unforgettable
journey of a lifetime! The week-long tour of fabled
wartime Nazi sites will start and end in Warsaw,
Poland (with pick up points in England if required).
Spend one day touring the dramatic, gigantic ruins deep in the
forest at Rastenburg (now called Kętrzyn), site of the famous
attempt on Hitler’s life in July 1944; afterwards Mr Irving
lectures at a nearby resort hotel on the curious puzzle: What
did Heinrich Himmler know in advance about the Stauffenberg
plot? — It is a foretaste of Mr. Irving’s eagerly awaited
biography of the Reich Führer of the SS.
The next day Mr Irving takes his guests the short distance to
the forest concealing Himmler’s own isolated headquarters at
Pozedrze. Many people find the eight huge bunkers, which were
only partially dynamited in 1944 and are hidden deep in the
forest like the ruins of Aztec pyramids, even more redolent of
Real History than the Wolf ’s Lair.
From these historic sites Hitler planned his crusade into Joseph
Stalin’s Russia in 1941, and Himmler oversaw his merciless
operations against the partisans and Jews.
There is more! Forget the phoney allures, mass-tourism and
“reconstructions” of modern-day Auschwitz — the erstwhile
slave-labour camp turned into a tourist attraction, complete
with hot-dog vendors and souvenir stands! While some of
Mr. Irving’s guests can choose to remain in Warsaw with an
expert guide to tour the sites of the Polish Resistance, or just go
shopping, he leads an optional all-day excursion to Treblinka,
the idyllic forest location of one of Himmler’s real death-camp
sites featured in the murderous Operation Reinhardt.
The price for this week-long tour will include all hotel
accmmodation, transfers and land transportation, and some
meals and picnics; ask us for details of our special group air fare
from London to Warsaw.
