Originally from Beechy Saskatchewan Greg played two seasons with the Regina Pats before starng on his junior career with the Regina Rams. Fiegs played on two Ram Naonal Champion teams in 1975 and 76. During his me he also played with the U of R Hockey team and was a member of one of the original teams that went to the Naonal championships. I am sure if they had won there would not be many others with a Naonal Junior Football Championship as well as CIAU hockey tle, oh what might have been! When Greg finished at the U of R the football opportunies connued as he was invited to try out for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Greg spent four seasons with the Riders before he was involved in a blockbuster deal! Traded by SSK to CGY in May 1985 with Bob Poley and Gerry Horne for Willie Thomas, Kevin Molle and Ken Moore. Fiegs spent two more years with the Stamps before calling it a football career and starng the rest of his life. University of Regina Archives and Special Collections, 86-16 Greg connued his educaon adding to the Arts degree he achieved in ’78 a BSW in ’81 and a MA in ‘91and all of these degrees were achieved at the U of R. Greg ventured into the consulng business as the President of the Strategic Future Group, he was also the leader of Ernst & Young Canada’s People and Organizaon Soluons team within the Strategy & Transformaon Service line. He now is a partner with Conroy Ross and the lead in the Regina Operaon. The dressing room and facilities we are now in are second to none and we want to establish stronger ties between our present players, staff and those who have come before. To keep the link between the past and the present we have created a wall of honor for alumni to leave there mark on the new dressing room. This initiative will create a sign immediately inside the dressing room door with a name bar of those who have been a part of the team before. This initiative will do two things: 1. Create a permanent location for the names of players who have come before. Instilling a history of the team and record of the individuals who have worn the numbers before 2. Create for you a tax receipt for $150.00 as the money is used for the scholarships of the hockey team. If you wish to have your name and number recognized in this permanent way contact Jill Fulton @ 585-4018 or Todd Johnson @585-5010, at the University to get your name and number added to the wall.
