“A Variety of Student Learning Opportunities”
Chess Club Success! The annual Vincent Massey Chess Tournament wrapped up on March 22
with Kohen Foley being crowned this year’s champion. In second place was his younger brother
Axxel Foley. As always we enjoyed a pizza party to celebrate the end of the chess season. I
would like to thank Dr. Bill Taylor for his ongoing support of the Chess Club at Vincent Massey.
Dr. Taylor has been an active part of our School community for many years, and without his support and assistance this program would not happen. The students and I thank you, Dr. Taylor!
I would also like to recognize the participants who meet once a week starting in November, then
as the tournament begins in February, play as many as three games per week.

their name in a draw for a movie pass sponsored by our School Council.

Family Fun Night was held on Tuesday, April 19th. This evening was a celebration
of learning through art, math, stories, and gym activities. It was wonderful to see so
many families participating in each activity.
Thank you to the parent volunteers, community readers and artist, who came in to
make the evening a success! A special thank you to JJ Kimber, our Special Event
Chair for School Council, for her planning and organizing of this event.
