The Power of Dance
As life continues on its path of complexity, and impacts our lives with events beyond
our control, the growing need for a meaningful outlet can be felt through the power of
dance.
Dancing, in itself, is body language and can be viewed as an expression of one’s
feelings, or a unique form of communication set in a social or performance
environment.
“Dancing by couples who face each other in a formal embrace is an invention of
western Europe. No other culture focuses so much attention on men and women
dancing together as physically linked partners.” This quote embodies the culture of
hand dancing, a couples form of dancing, where a man and a woman move together as
one unit.
Leo Buscaglia once said…”Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a
kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of
which have the potential to turn a life around.” To own this kind of power doesn’t cost
a dime!
This issue is solely dedicated to the Power of Dance and the Power of a Smile. All
photos were captured at Perry’s Restaurant where hand dancing to the music of DJ
Doo Wop Jack occurs every Thursday evening from 6:00- 10:00 pm.
“Every day brings a chance for you to draw in a breath, kick off your
shoes, and dance.” Quote by Oprah Winfrey

Not sure if Stan and Darlene are
giving each other a HIGH FIVE or if a
new turn is in the making!
Oh, Lord, how in the
hell am I going to get
out of this turn
gracefully???
Looks more like “Dirty
Dancing” to me, Marge
and Bob!
One smile out of two ain’t bad! Trich
needs to “elbow” John into a smile the
next time!
Someone let me know
when the girls figure out
what the hell they’re
doing!
