Interconnect System
A harsh environment
interconnect system with
superior electrical performance.
WHAT IS IT?
PDS-222-5
Dualok is an enhanced anti-decoupling mechanism that can be used on virtually any cylindrical plug
connector and backshell.
The Dualok Interconnect System greatly improves electrical performance in harsh environments while
providing a size and weight savings when compared to standard connectors in the same class.
Dualok technology is applied to the plug connector and backshell only and will mate with standard
receptacles.
DUALOK TECHNOLOGY BENEFITS
Superior Electrical Performance
Better Shell-to-Shell Conductivity: The Dualok anti-decoupling
mechanism, from the plug connector all the way through the
backshell, enhances the handling of high wattage lightning spikes
and electrical pulses from EMP by minimizing the apertures, i.e. no
“windows” or “gaps” to jump across. Testing on D38999 Series III
aluminum plugs with Dualok showed 75% less millivolt drop than
mil-spec requirements.
Size 9 Pair
Assures EMI Protection at High Frequencies: Dualok provides tighter
metal-to-metal shell closure.
Minimized Contact Fretting: The pin-socket interface remains tight
under mated conditions. Dualok yields more consistent integrity
across the contacts and reduces friction-induced oxides formation.
Mated Dualok Interconnect System
Superior Harsh Environment Performance
Extreme Vibration Capabilities at Wide Temperature Range (-65°C
to +200°C): Lower connector mass minimizes natural frequency
effects and wave spring provides damping benefits.
Enhanced Corrosion Protection with Composite Materials: No
lock-up in salt with composite against Stainless Steel. In addition,
composite threads provide high mating durability when mated to
metal or composite receptacles.
Reduces Relative Motion: The Dualok Interconnect System ensures
the mated pair moves as one uniform body.
Size and Weight Savings
Lightweight, Hybrid Composite/Metal Design: Connector weight
savings by utilizing Dualok composite coupling nut with a Stainless
Steel or Aluminum connector (D38999 Series).
Smaller Footprint/Space Savings: Introducing the NEW Size 5 and 7
D38999 Series III-style Dualok Sensor Series.
