Family life
Judy
Hello there! This is me with my neice Leah. Leah and I have always
enjoyed singing together since she was a toddler and as a result her
dad, my brother, has enroll her in singing lessons. Leah is a very
intelligent young girl with a big heart. Leah recently auditioned and
was chosen to sing with the Albuquerque Youth Choir and is one of
the youngest if not the youngest singing member. Leah and her
brother Nickolas both take piano lessons and are both in gifted
classes in school. I think it’s important to find special talents in
children and try to tap into them to improve self-esteem while
they’re young. And to have plan fun events often as a family.
Family life
I am single living alone and have never had children of my own. My
family of origin consists of three older sisters and five younger
brothers who all with the exception of one life in New Mexico within
an hours drive. One sister lives with her husband in Colorado and
has lived there for 40 years, they both work as artists and are a
very happy couple. I retired three years ago from Active duty
military, I have a home in Rio Rancho and property in Taos. I’m
financially stable and want to be full-time stay home
mom. I’ve always dreamed of being a mom and am looking
forward to beginning a family by adopting a child.
When I retired, I was fortunate to buy property in Taos where my
grandparents and great grandparents had lived. Below, my dad,
oldest sister Louella stand with me on my land when I first acquired
it along with its 50 year old weeds. The bottom picture is a most
recent picture of my land, it is a work in progress. I think it is so
important to stay as connected as one can to their family roots. I’ve
spent considerable resources, time and energy in gardening and
landscaping. The 100 aronia plants which I planted two years ago
produced six pounds of fruit this year. I visit Taos several times a
month to garden but more importantly I go to breath in the fresh air
and enjoy the serenity and beauty.
Joe, one of my younger brothers has four grown children and lives
nearby. Joe’s three sons live out of state, two are married and
they’re wives are pregnant expecting, one in December 2014 and
one in January 2015. This is good! Joe built his own home and has
horses and cows on it. Joe’s daughter Brittany owns two horses
and she lets the extended family ride them. Below is a picture of
my neice Leah, nephew Nickolas and standing behind one of her
horses in Brittany, Joes daughter. Joe also has land in Taos where
he takes some of his cows to graze on pastures as seen in the photo
below the horse photo.
My dad has loves all his grand children and entertains them every
chance he gets. The photo below is Leah and her grandpa posing
for a picture at his house. The next photo is of my youngest
brother Nelson three children playing with Marti Gra beads from
New Orleans at their grandpa’s house. My dad is excited about
having great grandchildren and stays on top of the latest in terms of
new arrivals and additions to the family. My dad is very supportive
of his extended family and attends every recital, birthday party, and
graduation. The next photo is another Nelson’s three children
posing for a photo, they’re names are Samuel, Nickolas and Leah
and yes they are very close. Samuel is a good older brother and
nephew.
My mother is photographed below with my dad. They’ve been
married 63 years. My mom had nine children, was a stay home
mom and devoted her life to her family. My mom loves her family,
her church family and has a compassionate heart. I think she
would be thrilled to learn that her youngest daughter could adopt a
child and start a family of her own since family speaks volumes in
her own life.
In the photo below, my sister Adeline and her son, Josh are playing
the piano at her home. Adeline likes to be called Nura and is my
closest sibling. Her son Josh spent many years in his childhood
taking piano lessons and playing at piano recitals. In the next
photo, Nura, Jody and I visited Bali, Indonsia and we’re hunting for
duck eggs. I am the one with the purple hat, Nura is wearing the
white hat and her artist friend Jody is wearing the hot pink hat. It
was great visiting a beautiful country like Indonesia and experience
they’re culture and traditions. The next photo is of my sister Nura
with her son Josh and his dog. Nura and her son Josh have a very
mature relationship. They are two of the happiest people I know.
About me
I grew up in a warm, loving home, surrounded by many siblings
and a many wonderful relatives. Although I had a career, my family
has always been the most important part of my life and supported
me 100%. I’ve always dreamed of being a mother and having a
family of my own but was never able to have any of my own
children I’ve had one pet, an African Grey which I allowed my
parents to raise while I pursued and completed my Masters Degree
in Business Administration at Bellevue University, Omaha,
Nebraska. I also completed attended and finished Cottonwood
School of Massage in Aurora, Colorado and now have my license in
New Mexico for Massage Therapy. After I retired I took 5 semesters
of Acupuncture at Southwest Acupuncture College and loved
learning about the theory of chinese medicine. Finally, I’ve taken 2
semesters of savory culinary classes at Central New Mexico College
in Albuquerque. I enjoy learning, staying productive, staying
healthy and making myself useful.
I was born in Butte, Montana and retired to Rio Rancho, New
Mexico. I bought my house in Rio Rancho some 18 years ago
because circumstances allowed for it to happen that way and that is
why I live here. I think it is a great setup however to adopt a child
now because all my family is living in nearby in New Mexico and
Colorado, respectively.
By adopting, I stating that I’m committed to sharing my resources,
time and energy to raise a child. Also, I want to extend with open
arms the love my family of origin, extended family and church
family can offer to an adopted child. There most certainly is enough
love to go around, 100 times over. I personally am happy with my
life and am thrilled at the chance to begin a family by adopting.
Thank you!
