Welcome to the Grand Pacific…
For 82 years our PITA members have been gathering
annually to renew old friendships, make new friends,
and to compete in Championship events and fun shoots.
This week in July is a special time for shooters, families,
and friends who join together in many fun and
competitive events.
Planning and preparation for the 2013 Grand has
been going on for months. The Executive Committee and Sue and Rusty
have spent many hours working to be ready for July 21. Advertisers,
vendors, and sponsors have been contacted, events have been planned,
and trophies have been ordered. As you walk through the grounds and
clubhouse, you will notice many vendors and sponsors. Their presence is
not accidental. They scheduled this time for us, packed their products and
made their reservations. I hope you will take a moment to thank each of
them for traveling to Evergreen and joining us for the week.
Take a careful look through this program. You might be amazed at all
the information it contains. You can learn about all the various options
offered for the events. You can find the information needed to pre-squad.
There are three pages of rules and general information. Check out the
dollar amounts of the Grand Magnums. Championship Singles Teams,
Champion of Champion, and Rookie of the Year competitions are explained.
Past records, some dating back to 1931, are listed. Take a look, it's fun!
I sincerely thank all the volunteers who have helped all year and those
who will be working with Evergreen and the Executive Committee this week.
We absolutely could not have this shoot without their generous and tireless
help. Our goal is to satisfy the needs of all shooters and to provide an
efficient and smoothly run shoot.
I wish you all good shooting and much laughter. Stay safe!

There will not be any registered shoots at the current location KDF&GC. All scheduled 2013 PITA shoots have been relocated to other clubs. We are trying to find a site for a new trap and skeet club. This is a good example of why trap and skeet clubs should always try and keep their independence. For more information contact Les Madsen 250‐764‐7201. On January 16, 2012, U.S. Marine
Staff Sgt. Thomas McRae, 29, from

patrolling the Marine base Chakaw
when an explosive device was
detonated under him. McRae was
serving his 2nd tour in Afghanistan
after three tours of duty in Iraq when the blast took his legs, his
left arm and caused serious injury to his brain and both eyes.
Despite his injuries Sgt. McRae survived and continues his
recovery and rehabilitation with four year old daughter, Aidan.
Building for America’s Bravest is a program that constructs Smart
Homes for military returning with devastating injuries. Sgt. McRae
plans to live in North Carolina. $1 of each Event #1 entry will be

Each State or Provincial Secretary or their
representative shall be responsible for
forming teams. Please contact this person
to be placed on a team.
Completed team forms must be submitted to the cashier’s office prior to
10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25th. Teams will be comprised of one shooter
from each class, AAA, AA, A, B, C, D. The team with the highest total of
combined scores for Events #11 & #13 will be the 2013 winning team. Each
member of the winning team receives a pullover, compliments of Bob Allen.
A shooter’s class will be as initially handicapped at the 2013 Grand Pacific
Tournament. A maximum of three teams per State or Province may
participate. Shooters must be residents of the State/Province for which they
are competing with the exception of D class. If a D class shooter from a
State/Province is not available a D class shooter from another State or
Province can be substituted (floater). If a team cannot be formed because a
shooter is not available in a certain class, a shooter of a lower class may be
substituted. Example: Class A shooter is not available, a Class B, C, or D
shooter may substitute for the missing class, (a Class AA shooter cannot
substitute for an A shooter, etc.). Each shooter can be a member of only
one team.
