In this report you will read highlights of remarkable programs and projects supported by the GPFPE. From providing support for innovative initiatives like Challenge Day and the F.A.S.T. reading program, to endowing an ambitious new student volunteerism program, to dramatically accelerating the deployment of instructional classroom technology thanks to the John A. and Marlene L. Boll Foundation, your generosity has impacted our community’s children in important and measurable ways. Established just over four years ago, the GPFPE has made solid progress toward achieving its mission of making our schools among the best in the nation. To date, the GPFPE has funded over $1 million in grants – large and small – to support a wide range of projects and programs at every school in the district. We believe that there is no more important investment or responsibility, than providing our children with an excellent, well-rounded educational experience. Your support demonstrates that you share that belief. Please take a moment to review our accomplishments and celebrate the many successes you have helped make possible. Again, we thank you and hope that we will continue to earn your support as we work to enhance the excellence that is the tradition of the Grosse Pointe Public School System. Sincerely, Robert A. Bury President One method of giving is to recognize a special friend, teacher, or community member with a gift in their honor to the Grosse Pointe Foundation for Public Education. Through these gifts, SMART Boards, digital projectors, document cameras, sound systems, and more have been installed in classrooms district wide.
