RICARDO CHÁVEZ BIOGRAPHY Ricardo Chávez was born in Mexico City on November 24th into a middle class family. He is the youngest of three brothers. His father an engineer and his mother a housewife were both in the entertainment business before getting married. Don Juan sang Mexican music and even opened concerts for Pedro Infante. Doña Hilda, a very beautiful woman, was a model. Discipline, commitment, punctuality, passion, spirituality and professionalism. These are words that describe Ricardo Chavez’s character and talent. When he was a little boy, Ricardo felt a strong need to express his emotions and feelings through art. He first dreamt of being a singer, and later would discover his true passion: acting. His first experiences in front of a camera started at a very young age while participating in several commercials. When Ricardo was very young, his father introduced him to the Martial Arts where he found refuge for his need to fuse into a balance of spirituality, discipline and code of honor. He was selected to become part of the national team in his country for Tae Kwon Do and Ju-Do. He is a black belt in both disciplines as well as in Kum-Do, the art of the Korean sword and is still actively practicing these arts. Ricardo started the journey towards his path to success at 16 when he set foot, for the first time, in a theater stage. At the time, he was studying Classic Ballet at the Fine Arts Institute of México, birthplace of several famous first class dancers. He also studied with Flamenco Dance living legend, the great Fernando Valdez. Later on, while still performing and studying theatre, he decided to get into modeling when discovered by an important Fashion Show Director. As a result, he quickly became very popular and traveled to several continents representing famous designer brands like Hugo Boss and Giorgio Armani. In spite of his success in the fashion world, he retired from modeling to fully pursue acting, his soul’s calling and true passion. Very soon Ricardo started appearing in popular soap operas in Mexico, on the most important Hispanic network in Latin America (Televisa). Having starred in 9 soap operas on that network, Ricardo received an offer from the renown Globo Network to move to Brazil and play a lead role in the soap opera “Vale Todo”, where he had the honor to work with Antonio Fagundes, a legendary actor in that country. He then went to Miami to play the lead role in the series “On The Edge of the Law”. Although the series got cancelled, he got the lead role in the film “Pretty Boy”. His performance in this film earned him an award at the “Made in Miami Film Festival”. Upon completion of this film, he got the lead role in the film “Se Habla Español”, a movie also in English whose title remained in Spanish due to publicity reasons. This film has been shown in some of the most important festivals of the world where Ricardo has received very good reviews for his work. Ricardo Chávez has demonstrated his skills in 21 different plays such as: “Who Is the Guilty One?”, “Andrés, Here Comes the Train”, the monologue “How To Forget My Past”, “Waiting for Godot “, “The Fiddler on the Roof” with the great Manolo Fábregas among others. In recent years, Ricardo has been acknowledged and has received several awards in the United States for his outstanding performances. Some of these recognitions and awards include: “Latin Pride National Awards” “Best Actor” Boston, Mass. USA. “No Limits Hispanic Talent Awards” “Best Villain in a Soap Opera” New York, NY. USA. “Fame Magazine Awards” “Outstanding Acting in the soap opera ‘Land of Passions’ ” Miami, FL. USA. “Orchid USA Awards” “Best Actor of the Year” Miami, FL. USA. Ricardo has given life to an endless list of characters. Some of them are still in the memories of audiences that have offered him unconditional caring and support. The unforgettable “Diosdado Amado” from the soap opera “Sweet Secret” is just one of these characters. Ricardo underwent a total transformation - a transformation of his physique into a virtual Tarzan. He also changed his voice, speech, walk, gaze and mannerisms. Evil “Miguel Valdez” from “Land of Passions” is another character that carved lasting memories in audiences and fans. Similarly there are so many more characters that are still becoming favorite guests in people’s homes all over the world through continuous reruns of his soap operas. His last film “Buda’s Head” was shot in Mexico City where Ricardo gave life to “Lino”, a world famous Classic Ballet choreographer. In this film, Ricardo had the opportunity to show his talent as a professional Ballet dancer. With 18 soap operas, 21 theatre plays, 8 films and more than 100 TV shows under his belt, Ricardo continues working his craft in Hollywood where he is actively doing the “crossover” in order to definitively consolidate his career in the American market. After several years of continuous requests from fans all over the world, Ricardo is finally publishing his first book “Your Life Does Not Have To Be A Soap Opera” in English and Spanish languages in several countries. This book is a product of the great sensitivity and extensive life experience of this multitalented artist, resulting in an exciting work of high spiritual and motivational content. In this book, Ricardo confronts us with our spiritual reality and answers questions like: “Who am I?”, “Where do I come from?”, “What happens after death?”, Does spirits exist?”, while tackling themes like reincarnation, the Law of Cause and Effect and life after death, among other interesting subjects. Ricardo is currently living in Hollywood, “The Movie Mecca”, where he will resume his acting career in order to consolidate it in the American market. This will happen through a trilogy of timepiece films where he will share credits with movie legends as the lead actor. At his representation’s request, we can’t give any more details about these projects. Ricardo has cultivated an impeccable reputation through the years by always leading a life free of scandals or embarrassing situations. His main interest is family and the legacy he can leave behind. During his career, Ricardo has always kept in touch with those who have helped make his professional success a reality through his web pages. With a “heart of fire and a child-like smile”, as the media have stated, Ricardo Chávez believes in the existence of Divinity, with love as its main characteristic. His philosophy is one of love and respect for all living beings and for the planet. And his goal is to spread light and awareness to all those who are still in the darkness. Ricardo Chávez is a true believer that there are three fundamental things that are necessary to achieve any goal: discipline, dependability and perseverance nurtured by passion, love and courage.
