The New Year is the perfect time for a New Look Cosmetic plastic surgery is becoming the New Year's resolution of choice for many Americans. Plastic surgery was once considered an unnecessary indulgence, practiced mainly by aging actresses desperate for the proverbial Fountain of Youth. Not anymore! With January 1, 2012 quickly approaching, thousands of Americans will resolve to lose weight, tone up, or enhance their look. Many will decide to get cosmetic plastic surgery to help them reach their goal of looking and feeling better about themselves. BCHC has the Specialists and Surgery Center you need to help you find the new improved you. Klausner, M.D., FACS Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Facial Plastic Surgery (239) 498-4968 Since 1970, January has been known as National Blood Donor Month. It's a time when the American Red Cross pays tribute to the nearly 11 million people who give blood each year. It's also a time where the Red Cross encourages those who have never donated to do so. January is a challenging time for blood donation the busy post-holiday schedules can make it difficult for blood donors to keep appointments. Regardless of the time of year, hospital patients nationwide need about 44,000 blood donations daily for cancer care, surgeries, and the treatment of serious diseases and trauma. Please visit the Lee Lab in suite 2100 to donate today. If you stop by and donate on Saturday, January 14th during the BCHC Health Fair you will receive an extra entry into the iPad drawing. Martin Luther King Day, January 16th Born on January 15, 1929, Martin Luther King Jr. grew to become one of the greatest Social Activists the world has ever known. At 35, he became the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace prize. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968 while making a speech from the balcony of his hotel room in Memphis, Tennessee. His Birthday became a National Holiday by an act of Congress in 1983. Many consider it a day to serve your community. Chinese New Year January 23rd Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival as it's been called since the 20th century, remains the most important social and economic holiday in China. Originally tied to the lunar-solar Chinese calendar, the holiday was a time to honor household and heavenly deities as well as ancestors. It was also a time to bring family together for feasting. With the popular adoption in China of the Western calendar in 1912, the Chinese joined in celebrating January 1st as New Year's Day. 1 Radiology Scripts: BCHC honors all Radiology Scripts.
