MYSTERY TRIP: After our rest stop at the Hinsdale Oasis, the trip t-shirts were passed out and the shirt back listed our trekking sites. It was nothing but magic from that point on as my weather luck held up and further enhanced these beautiful and unique hikes. We had an amazing team enjoy this four day weekend in a very special place. Special thanks to Janna Gibson, Kathy & Marty Flynn, Elaine Metzger, Gary Kachur and Thom Janssen. ROADRUNNER TRAILS: A big turnout churned out some significant HOF on this challenging all trail course. Special thanks to Beth Gunn, Thom Janssen and Ray, Pat & Bre at the Elks. The Jog Pot was generous and will take good care of the Elks. We also had lots of fellowship and good rehydration at Zeke's. TREE-MENDUS FRUIT: Our next training session will be this Saturday, May 23rd at Treemendus Fruit farm near Indian Lake west of Dowagiac. A lecture on HOF training and special considerations for hiking in Grazalema will start at 8:00AM and hikes ranging from 4.3 to 17.0 miles will start at 8:30AM. This beautiful course winds through a large fruit farm and golf course. DIRECTIONS: Tree-mendus Fruit, 9351 E Eureka Rd., Eau Claire, MI 49111 MAP RE-HYDRATION: Old Tavern Inn, 61088 Indian Lake Rd., Niles, MI 49120 MAP DEVIL'S LAKE: The exhilaration of completing our first Test Hike at Devil's Lake is certainly captured in Thom's design for our award shirt this year. This is the last call for this classic hike and everyone's cooperation is greatly appreciated! [Details] “Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and the mountains and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.” Training Schedule John Muir 2015 Cairn Stone Newsletters Page 1 of 1
