The UW Oshkosh exam prep course offers •Two hours per week of online chat sessions with students and instructor •A comprehensive study guide •Opportunities to study with peers •Sample exam questions •Overview of the application process Why become a registered sanitarian? As a registered sanitarian you will work to protect human health, safety and welfare by controlling preventable diseases and applying environmental control measures. The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services requires registered sanitarians to complete training, apply for and pass the REHS/RS exam. Work in the public and private sectors in areas like food safety, drinking water regulation, wastewater systems, radiation protection, housing and occupational safety. By passing this exam, you’ll be able to use your education and experience and become a registered sanitarian! Who Should Attend This program is for individuals who are interested in obtaining their REHS/RS credentials. Participants come from a variety of positions, including nurses, inspectors, engineers, environmental and planning consultants, business owners, quality improvement specialists, and laboratory employees. The program is also open to students of biology, microbiology or environmental sciences. Past participants have worked at the state, federal, county and private sector, and have come from all over the United States. Instructor Jeffrey J. Undergraduate credit option: University students have the option to earn one undergraduate credit to UW Oshkosh. The course is Biology 445 – Special Topics in Environmental Health. Approved Test Site UW Oshkosh is an approved test site to administer the REHS/RS exam. The program fee for the non-credit portion of the prep course is due no later than 10 days before the program. The fee includes instruction and study guide. The study guide will not be mailed until receipt of payment. After that date, call the UW Oshkosh Division of Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement to determine program availability. Enrollment is limited. Cancellation policy If Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement receives Week 8 (Not mandatory—used only to ensure accessibility and accuracy of your records.)
