Howdy, Texans!
RuPaul’s Drag Race was without a doubt the most successful program launch
in the three year history of Logo, this country’s preeminent GLBT television
network. As can be expected, each of the participants in the contest has become a celebrity in their own right, and none more so than the competition’s
winner, Bebe Zahara Benet, aka Nea Marshall from Minneapolis. As part of the
contest’s prize package, Bebe has teamed with Absolut Vodka for its Real Fruit
Tour which - having already tipped through Miami, Chicago, San Francisco and
LA – now comes to Texas for a three-city sashay at Woody’s in Dallas, Oilcan
Harry’s in Austin and South Beach in Houston. Bebe was kind enough to visit
with us recently, and our interview with her is not only included in this very
issue you’re now perusing, but also happens to be this week’s cover story.
Bebe is fierce, and we are naturally delighted that she could fit us into her busy
schedule.
We’re also delighted to feature a Mario Mares-penned porn review of Michael
Lucas’ latest opus, “Wall Street,” for those of you – and you know who you are
– that like a little visual stimulation in your sexcapades…or, can’t really think
of anyone you’d rather date than yourself. Though I haven’t seen it yet (Mario
can be so possessive about his DVD’s,) it looks very much like something that
I could really get off to, having a predilection for macho men in designer suits
and wingtips and all and all. And, based on the glowing and ejaculatory comments proffered by Mr. M, I’m pretty sure y’all will enjoy it, too!
On top of all of that, we have our weekly serving of Tea; our gay planner entries in This Week’s Best Bets; mixmaster Chris Allen’s weekly dose of tempo
tidbits in his groovy Groovelines column; our fab photo features, TWT Files
and This Week’s Daddy; and, of course, This Week’s ‘Scopes. And, it’s all
distributed to you in a colorful, glossy format that’s big enough to read without
your glasses and small enough to accessorize whatever you may or may not
be wearing.
Until next week…we’re This Week in Texas!

Name: David Henry
Occupation/Field: For the last 15 years, I have worked in the field of Information Technology.
Texas Connection: I have lived in Dallas for 28 years. One of three darts and a map brought
me here. Taking a chance paid off in moving to a great city, making even greater friends,
and finding a wonderful partner.
Daddy’s Pass Times: Working with a diverse and vibrant leather community at events, workshops, and fund raisers through National Leather Association-Dallas where I serve
as Male Co-Chair and National Leather Association-International who recently
honored me with their Man Of The Year Award. I also enjoy spending time with
the men of Discipline Corps.
What every Daddy should know: You don’t have enough letters behind your name to “fix”
someone else. There are three sides to every story: your side, their side, and the truth.
Sub of your Dreams: The sub of my dreams is a man who is health conscious, understatedly
confident, a good cook, a better bootblack, very organized, and has an incredible mind.
Everything else is open to opportunity.
Favorite indulgence: Boots, Patron Silver, freshly baked cookies
Best thing about being a Daddy: The simple pleasures of a quiet evening at home with the
family.
