Report from «Young Entrepreneur» Challenge Lunde 10-årige skole We divided this challenge in two parts: Part 1: Theoretical task: Students worked to create their own business idea based on "Ungt entreprenørskap" which is a public sponsored system to provide tips and opportunities to young entrepreneurs. In this theoretical task should students use different methods to come up with good entrepreneurial ideas. Students should write what type of business they wanted to pursue using creativity exercises as brainstorming an scenario methods. Part 2: Practical task: • Sales of waffles • Baking in baking house • Collecting trash • Create event. • Cake baking. The pupils had to find out: • Need for money / resources • How much time they needed and how to use their time efficiently. • Potential business opportunities • Customer base • Customer needs A theoretical task discussion in the classroom Making an business idea Finished Result - Pet Hotel Filling out the “Young entrepreneur form”. Finished Result - Sports Students worked to make their own business idea. We used a form from “Ungt Entreprenørskap” on this task. Students used different techniques developed by this organization determine what type of business or business sites they wanted to create. Pupils at the pictures wanted among others to start a health center or a hotel for animals. “Ungt Entreprenørskap” strive to promote and increase the entrepreneurial culture in education in primary, secondary and higher education in our region. They are an independent, non-profit association that is part of a national and international network. Their mission is to help build entrepreneurial skills in children and adolescents in Norway, in cooperation with education and business and industry. “ Practical task – community work Garbage picking – community work. One of the practical tasks was to do charitable tasks for the local community. All classes at school were tasked to collect garbage in the community and further investigate the treatment of garbage. Pupils were also given a theoretical review of consumption, environmental protection and recycling. Practical task – making an event. Making an event. Students should create an event in connection with an anniversary of one of the school staff. They planned, made preparations, made posters, cards and decorated the schools premises. This gave students practical training and experience in arranging a big event for many people. Cake baking assignment. Cake baking – making an event. ‘ Some students chose to conduct a practical work in cake baking. They set up a budget and made cakes that would be used in conjunction with an event at school. Students learned a variety of skills such as finance, practical baking and decorating.
