WELCOME
Welcome and thank you for supporting the 2012 Brick Awards.
The Members of the Brick Development Association are aware
that the projects are the result of a partnership between the brick
maker, contractor and designer. All parties are represented here
tonight. We hope you will all enjoy the evening and will join us in
celebrating the excellent entries.
It is true that brick is currently undergoing a revival.
Architects are appreciating the design freedom and
appearance given by brick, along with its sustainable
and durable characteristics.
The evening is only possible with the selfless work of the judging
panel, under the leadership of Bob Allies. We are also grateful
for the support of our members and the sponsors supporting
the industry and tonight’s Awards Night. The 2012 entries have
surpassed the previous years in number which reflects the
increasing importance of the BDA Awards. We would like to thank
the organisers who have spent time and effort in
preparing this evening.

CRASH is the construction and property industry’s
charity for homeless people. CRASH is a unique
charity that harnesses the skills, materials and
generosity of the industry to refurbish emergency
night shelters, day centres and hostels used by
homeless men and women throughout the UK. All the
buildings that CRASH help to refurbish offer homeless
people a safe, secure refuge where they can address
their problems and get the support they need to
rebuild their lives.
100% of the money raised for CRASH at the
2012 Brick Awards will go directly to supporting
homelessness projects; none of this will be spent on
