What Our Members
are Saying About Us
Dear Carol:
I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you
how grateful I am to you and the JCC. My
membership means so much to me. It has
been a Godsend both physically and mentally.
My husband was very ill the last year. It was
physically and mentally draining. In my
conversation with you, you said that being
active at the JCC would be helpful mentally
and physically. I couldn’t have dreamed it
would help me deal with lives curves. I love
the exercise classes and the water aerobics.
I’ve made many new friends at the JCC. My
doctor advised me to get more active and to
lose weight. I am physically more fit, I have
more stamina and am able to do so much
more for a much longer period of time since
joining the JCC. I take at least 3 exercise
classes and 1 water aerobics class each week.
I love Lydia. Lori, Karen and Regina have great
classes also. Being a JFIT member is great.

EARLY CHILDHOOD
Lynbrook, Oceanside, Merrick, Long Beach
Roni Kleinman, Assistant Executive Director
516-766-1882, rkleinman@ friedbergjcc.org
2 Years
Our two-year olds have great fun in this
beginning school experience. For many,
this is also a first-time separation. Our
experienced staff will gently guide your
child to a place of trust and security. Your
child will have varied opportunities to
further develop, expand and strengthen
fine and gross motor skills, as well as
develop social skills by interacting with
both peers and adults.
Roni Kleinman
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our programs are based on the philosophy
that children grow and develop to their
fullest capacity if given the opportunity
to explore, create and problem solve
in small settings. They foster emergent
reading, writing, art, music, movement
and social skills. Hands-on experiences
promote understanding of math & science
concepts. Children develop emotionally
and socially when they experience positive
adult and child interaction in individual
and group settings. Our experienced staff
creates a safe and nurturing environment
where children learn to care about and
cooperate with others, as well as develop
positive self-esteem. In our child centered
classrooms, individual interests are
identified, and activities are planned
that give each child an opportunity for
exploration and self-direction.
Infants (6 weeks–18 months)
By connecting with warm, caring adults at
the start of life, children begin to develop
the ability to connect with others. At the
JCC, your baby will enjoy warm, human
contact with caregivers who not only
ensure the children’s safety and comfort,
they foster their physical, sensory, social,
emotional and intellectual development.
Toddlers (18 months-2 years)
As your infant grows into a toddler,
development of language and future
literacy skills are greatly enhanced through
daily activities and thematic units. Social
skills will develop through interaction with
friends, learning to take turns, sharing,
participation and above all having fun.
4
3 Years
Our three-year olds are introduced to a
broad academic curriculum in our language
and literature rich classrooms through
play and small group instruction. Early
math concepts are presented, providing a
foundation of readiness skills. Small and
gross motor development, expansion of
social skills, science, music and art will also
be part of your three year old’s experience.
4 Years
When your child is four, it’s time to
embark on a year-long learning adventure
as they prepare for Kindergarten.
Progressively challenging language and
math experiences, as well as science
and social studies, round out your
child’s experience. Phonemic awareness
and letter recognition are emphasized.
Children further develop their fine and
gross motor skills as they refine social
skills and develop a clearer sense of
community and responsibility.
Optional Bus Transportation

Merrick and Long Beach. One way or
round trip. Call for more information.

Make a Bequest in Your Will
A simple bequest in your will designated
for the JCC is the most common technique
for leaving your legacy.
Use Life Insurance
A gift of a life insurance policy is
particularly appealing for younger
individuals because of its reasonable cost
and tax benefit.
When the JCC is the owner and
beneficiary of the policy, the premium
payments that you make are tax
deductible. You may be able to contribute
an older policy to the JCC and realize a
tax benefit.
Name the JCC as the Beneficiary of
Your IRA or Retirement Plan
Your IRA or retirement plan can be
subject to high estate and income taxes,
leaving few dollars for your heirs. The
more you can save on your tax bill, the
more that your heirs will inherit from you.
Use these assets first when making
a legacy gift to the JCC.
Stop by our front office or
