to the Acajatuba community, a typical Amazon Basin caboclo community (descendants of
the Amazon’s indigenous inhabitants). Small and simple, the village includes a main square,
local market, church and a school. After helping the locals paint their houses, you will spend
time with the children and village elders. This day trip provides the opportunity to travel a bit
deeper into the Rio Negro river system, get to know the local people and provide a valuable
service to this community that is always trying to better the lives of its families, but often lack
the funds to do so.
