Fairgrounds | Sponsored by: KICD The tractor ride will be leaving the Clay County Fairgrounds at 7:00am 5 PM to ? PM - University of Iowa Mobile Museum Clay County Fairgrounds The Mobile Museum features an array of exhibits that focus on three very different eras in Iowa’s history. Iowa’s Ice Age Giants explores the great mammals that roamed the state during the last ice age and their sudden extinction. Glenwood: Iowa’s Ancient Agriculturalists tells the story of the Glenwood culture centered in the Loess Hills and their connections to the Iowa landscape through agriculture. Cornerstones focuses on the founding of Iowa and writing of its constitution, the building of the Old Capital building, and the creation of the University of Iowa. The museum also features a new interactive digital wall that allows visitors to learn about UI space research, the Santos Virtual Soldier program, and the UI Flood Cent’s sophisticated flood-prediction mapping systems, as well as additional information on Iowa archaeology. This is free to the public. 6:30 PM to 7 PM - Shayla Bee Celebrity Motorcycle Ride Clay County Fairgrounds | Provided by: Shayla Bee Shayla Bee riders will take VIP’s of Spencer on a Celebrity Bike Ride. Come out to see the ride leave the grounds at 6:30 PM and welcome them all back on to the fairgrounds at 7:00 PM. 7 PM to Midnight - Festival Garden Clay Co. Fairgrounds | Provided by: Spencer Jaycees What a great way to enjoy a lovely summer evening - a social event to meet your friends and neighbors. 7 PM to 11 PM - Meltdown Clay Co. Fairgrounds | Sponsored by: University of Okoboji Marathon Fundraiser for the New Spencer K-9 Officer Come to the Clay County Fairgrounds and try your luck with being the last one standing on the Meltdown. Any business or organization wishing to enter into the Team Competition for $100 donation per team, please contact the Spencer Chamber at 712-262-5680. The winning 8 member team will receive a lunch pizza party sponsored by The Pizza Ranch and delivered by the Chamber Staff and Police Officers. The meltdown will be open to the public to compete among yourselves for a $5 donation per person. 100% of all funds raised will go to the Spencer Police Department for the new K-9 Officer. 8 PM to Midnight - Flagfest Street Dance Clay Co. Bring your lawn chairs to the Clay County Fairgrounds and enjoy an evening of music! Registration fee of $10.00 per person - includes lunch from 1 to 2 PM in West Leach Park. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. If there is a support crew they need to register and may purchase a lunch wrist band for $5.00. Each participant under 18 must have a parent/guardian accompany per canoe or kayaks.
