It goes without saying that “a tall man casts a long shadow.” And as the sun
begins to set, the shadow grows even longer.
W.D. Frazee (1906-1996) was educated in medical science at Loma Linda and
in health evangelism by the legendary J.H.N. Tindall. In 1942, Elder Frazee and
a faithful team of pioneers established Wildwood Sanitarium and Medical
Missionary Institute where physicians, nurses, pastors, and laymen received
practical training in medical evangelism.
From its humble beginnings, Wildwood has echoed the vision of the founders,
nurtured in a prayerful study of the Scriptures and Spirit of Prophecy counsels.
Today, Wildwood Sanitarium, Inc. continues to educate medical missionary
evangelistic workers from all over the world at its country outpost near
Chattanooga, Tennessee.
While looking for ways to implement inspired instructions, Elder Frazee in
his retirement years established Pioneers Memorial in 1985. This ministry
is committed to sharing the timeless inspiration of his Wildwood vespers,
Sabbath worships, and student classes. Thousands of audio files are
distributed each year, and tens of thousands have gone around the world.

In his final years, Elder Frazee endured with faith and courage the affliction
of Parkinson’s disease. Yet with clarity and affection, till nearly the day of his
death, he continued to write short encouraging notes to his friends, often
enclosing a sermon tape. Those who helped to hold up the hands of this
pioneer believe that God used him through the ministry of Pioneers Memorial.

Years ago when reel-to-reel tape recorders
were fairly new, vesper talks and classes were recorded
at the Wildwood Chapel. From these tapes have developed a
ministry which has reached many hearts and homes.
These recordings do not come from a professional studio presentation.
Rather, the listener is simply a part of a vesper audience, class group
at Wildwood, campmeeting assembly, or some other group as may
be indicated. Sometimes there is participation—individual and
group responses. Occasionally, the sound of a
passing train or a crying baby may be heard.
The subjects presented cover a wide range of Gospel
and Health topics, the objective being to contribute
our little part in the worldwide work of the Third
Angel’s Message to “make ready a people prepared for
the Lord.”
If you receive recordings which you find unsatisfactory
for any reason, please contact us for replacement.

Recently Remastered
Although these sermons have been recorded over a
30-year period (from 1950-1980), and originally on
reel-to-reel tape, many have since been edited, digitized,
and remastered. Check our website for a current listing.
Much of the hiss and rumble has been removed; coughs, baby
cries, and other background noises have been reduced; and the
sermons have been shortened by eliminating long pauses and
condensing the files. These archives will never sound brand new, but
we consider the content powerful enough to release the best we have.
We pray that you will be blessed even if you find the sound quality
less than pristine. We trust that your listening
experience may even be enhanced by the precious,
authentic Wildwood Chapel environment.
