CASE STUDY:
How carefully crafted content increased leads
Solution providers certainly understand the importance of setting themselves apart from the competition in the AIDC industry. Being
known as the industry expert puts a solution provider in a position to turn potential opportunities into profitable deals. When L-Tron
Corporation (L-Tron) partnered with ScanSource Services Group’s Marketing Team for content writing for their website, the collaboration
resulted in a constructive, interactive process. As a result, the solution provider has substantive, relevant, and brand-enhancing content
for their target audience, prospects and customers.
CHALLENGE
THE
L-Tron is a provider of data collection and management solutions supporting healthcare,
public safety, manufacturing, retail and a variety of other specialized markets. And while
L-Tron recognized a need for blog content, corporate website content, whitepapers and customer case studies; bandwidth issues
prevented them from getting these projects completed. “It was important to L-Tron to work with someone who not only understood their
business and audience, but could also match their corporate tone,” said Amy Fitch, Product Marketing Manager with ScanSource Services
Group, “They didn’t have the resources available internally, and needed a content writer with industry expertise, which isn’t something
they could get from a mainstream marketing agency,” said Fitch.

THE
After reviewing L-Tron’s existing marketing collateral, ScanSource Services Group’s Marketing
Team recommended a strategic approach for case studies, web content and other collateral pieces
to solidify and enhance their branding and corporate language. Action-items included:
• Development of branded customer case studies and solution one-sheets
• Creation of an engaging whitepaper that clearly communicates the brand
• A common voice for blog posts, articles and resource documents that reflects L-Tron’s culture
• A running list of blog posts and resource content topics relevant to L-Tron’s audience
Development of these marketing pieces allowed L-Tron to continually generate interest and draw visitors to their site, without having to
take focus from their core business objectives.
PROCESS
THE
After an initial call to work through strategy, the Scansource Services Group’s Marketing Team
presented L-Tron with their first corporate one-sheet. This acted as a template for both design and
language of L-Tron’s collateral to come. Upon L-Tron’s approval, the Marketing Team developed a fully-designed case study and began
generating a list of blog and resource document topics, as well as a schedule for ongoing content that aligns with L-Tron’s content strategy.
RESULTS
THE
Through the company’s initial eight month strategy, L-Tron’s content library includes several case studies,
two one-sheets, two whitepapers, and over 50 blog posts and resource articles. The new marketing
materials maintain a cohesive brand and voice for the company, while touting their solutions, markets and value. This content was used in
specialty industry publications, on L-Tron’s website, and as sales collateral. L-Tron considers ScanSource Services Group a trusted partner
who will position them as an expert and valuable resource for industry information. In terms of web traffic, leads generated and overall
value to the business:
• Corporate website visits increased 22%; directly connected to content pages
• Blog content increased 590% in the first year
• In the first six months, over 90 direct leads resulted from blog hits and whitepaper downloads
• L-Tron now enters lead info into their CRM and continues to market to these contacts
