About the Camp
• Early registration will ensure each camper a place in
this year’s basketball camp.
• The registration fee is $75
• Each camper should provide the following equipment:
1) T-shirt
2) playing shorts
3) socks
4) basketball shoes
• Campers will receive a camp T-shirt. Awards will
be given to players at each age level in a variety of
categories.
• The 2014 USAO Basketball Camp is directed by Jennifer
Hayden, USAO head women’s basketball coach, and
Leandra Johnson, assistant coach.
• In addition to the coaching staff, campers will receive
instruction and assistance from members of the USAO
basketball team.
• Participants in the morning camp will need to be
picked up by noon.
• Participants in the afternoon camp will need to be
picked up by 4:30 p.m.
Camp Emphasis
Coach Hayden’s camp is designed to focus on improving girls overall basketball skills. It will focus
on ball handling, dribbling, passing, shooting,
team play, offense and defense. Campers will get
the opportunity to learn from Coach Hayden and
members of the USAO Women’s Basketball team
with emphasis on the fundamentals through
drills and team play.
Jennifer Hayden
Head Coach
Coach Jennifer Hayden is ap-
proaching her third season with the
Drovers and is eager to show off in
the tough Sooner Athletic Conference.
With two seasons as the head
coach she has three DaktronicsNAIA Scholar-Athletes and seven
players named Academic AllConference, which was the most
athletes in the conference honored
academically for a school.
She coached the Drovers to two
consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference tournaments.
In the 13-14 season, she coached two All-Conference players
including a player who became the third Drover in the 1,000
point club.
Hayden came to USAO directly from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. There, she recruited and coached the
2011-12 American Southwest Conference West Division Newcomer of the Year and had three NCAA Scholar-Athletes. Sul
Ross is an NCAA Division III school.
Prior to joining the Lobo staff in 2010, Hayden spent two
seasons starting a new program as the head women’s basketball coach at NAIA Division I University of the Southwest in
Hobbs, N.M.
Leandra Johnson
Assistant Coach
When Leandra Johnson joined the
Drovers in 2011, she jumped right
into coaching and right into life
at USAO, taking on an assistant
coaching role with the women’s
basketball team and serving as head
cross country coach for both the
men’s and women’s programs.
Johnson came to USAO after
spending two years as a graduate
assistant at Northwestern Oklahoma
State.
Johnson graduated from NWOSU
with a bachelor’s in health and
sports science in 2009. Along with her bachelor’s she also got
her master’s degree from NWOSU in 2014.
