President’s Message
Can you believe it? We are
into 2010, close to the end of
the first quarter and things are
looking up. I’m very optimistic that our market will continue to improve and make
this year a good one.
Our Annual Awards Luncheon was held on February 17th
at Idle Hour Country Club
with a great turn-out. Even in
the slow market we had 58
Realtors® receiving the Circle
of Excellence award. Our congratulations go out to these
hard workers as well as those
below who won our special
Realtor® Awards:
Be on the lookout for the
following events:
March 10th — NAR’s Short
Sales & Foreclosure Resource
Certification Class.
March 17th — Free PEMCO
training – morning and afternoon sessions – space limited
so register early.
March 19th - ABR Elective
Course Introduction to Auc-
tion Class
May 13th — Ms. RPAC
Beauty Contest RPAC Fundraiser .
April 7th — Lunch & Learn on
RESPA Changes.
Our Board of Directors has
been reviewing the new tax
rollbacks. We have voted to
take action on this matter by
making sure the public is informed of their rights as well
as the dates for the public hearings. Watch the newspaper for
our opinion piece regarding
this issue.
Our first Leadership Academy was a great success. We
congratulate the 10 Graduates:
Mindy Attaway, Bonnie
Collins, Mary Beth Conn,
Terry Connell, Sharon Hall,
Jackie Hicks, Cheryl Lewis,
Shannon Piland, James Solomon, and Jamie Walters.
Please consider going through
the Leadership Academy in the
future in you are considering
any type of leadership position.
Thank you to all who served
in volunteer positions and leadership rolls during 2009. Without these people our Association could not function. Get
involved and you will be glad
you did.
“Ability is what you’re capable
of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude
determines how well you do it.”

Commercial Council Update
We would like to thank Pat Madison of
the College Hill Corridor group for hosting our commercial council meeting last
month. In case you missed it the program
was very informative and they also shared
with us their marketing DVD which was
excellent.
If you have any property that you feel
would be of interest to Pat’s group don’t
hesitate to give him a call at (478) 3012008. Also, if you would like more infor-
mation on the College Hill Corridor visit
their web site at www.collegehillmacon.
com.
We tentatively have a meeting scheduled
this month at the Highridge Centre. More
information will follow shortly.
Be on the look out for a survey on how
we can better serve our commercial council members. Please take a little of your
time to fill out the survey. Your feedback
is important as we plan for the rest of the
year and beyond. I heard that there may be
a cash drawing chosen from the members
who fill out the survey.
And lastly put April 29th on your calendar
for the annual pig pulling at Capital City
Bank at their new bank location on Fifth
Street.

RPAC Update
Your RPAC Committee met in February to plan the first fundraising event for
the year, the Ms. RPAC Contest.
The Ms. RPAC Contest will be
held at our luncheon on May
13th at Idle Hour Country Club.
This will be a fun and exciting
event you will not want to miss.
Contestants so far include Bruce
Elliott, Bruce Elliott & Associates, Troy Young, Troy Young
Realty & Rex Yoder with Coldwell
Banker/SSK, Realtors®.
Because of federal guidelines we are
unable to hold two of our most
popular fundraisers as RPAC
events, the golf tournament and
the sporting clays shoot. The
entrance fees required to comply
with federal guidelines just
made these events too expensive
to hold.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday,
