The radial positioning feature of this system also makes it ideal for liquid detergent plus food and beverage applications. 1 Utilizing a patented dual parison technology combined with patented radial positioning features, this simple-to-operate production line is capable of more than 200 BPM. Among many unique benefits, the Series III 48-cavity system discharges containers in single file from the wheel into an integrated high speed rotary deflasher and high speed rotary chipless neck finishing system. An optional rotary leak detector and surface treatment mechanism provide customers one-stop turnkey capabilities, making the Series III ideal for self manufacturing or dedicated custom applications. Wilmington Machinery’s unique approach to dual parison technology utilizes a side-by-side concept in individual molds instead of the front-to-back utilized by other wheel manufacturers. This provides less flash, better trimming and enables single file container discharge. Dual extruders and die heads give unlimited processing ability that is crucial to achieving the 48-50 gram containers being produced today. Series III extrusion systems are configured for each application but most have outputs of 2500 to 3000 lbs/hour. Wilmington’s dual parison machines can also be built with up to 60 cavities. According to Jeff Newman, VP of Sales and Marketing for Wilmington Machinery: “Our approach is to make it easy for customers to manufacture bottles by providing the machinery, molds, training and even installation. Coextrusion is almost standard today for our high speed wheel systems. Some motor oil customers recognize the advantage of using a two layer structure, especially in time savings to make a color change. When a customer can save 2 cents or more per bottle, it’s easy to quickly see the advantages of these high speed lines.” Newman notes that complete facility proposals have included compressed air, chilled water, resin handling, scrap handling and automatic palletizing with strapper, stretch wrapping and pallet conveying equipment. For a quarter of a century, Wilmington Machinery has been designing and building high quality specialty and standardized Rotary 2 Blow Molding Machines, Structural Injection Foam Machines and Industrial Blow Molding Machines.
