Well, the second issue has to be the best too, right? We at 9.0 Magazine can boast that we have 2 issues and more planned. It is truly a
mystery to my investor that we are still at this journey. Still looking
to find words and pictures that make and keep other captivated.
Yes, some people are a little bit stubborn. While the magazine industry on a whole is failing with mass closing and layoffs, 9.0 Magazine is on its second issue. Is the irony? Is there a hidden joke in all
this. We feature regular ladies in our selfie section and received a
great response. Our cover, Mz Chardonnay was beyond sexy with
her tatted self! We even had the pics of the, self proclaimed, Queen
Nicki Minaj. Now, I am very excited about this issue. I thank everyone that continues down this publishing journey with 9.0 The
Underground and 9.0 Magazine. I would like to thank the Money
Gritterz, Chevy Man and Truth for being great artists and friends.
Watching people excel in their craft is a great joy of mine.

Seattle: They stay here to open the season -- even if repeating is almost impossible

2. Denver: They have added a lot of good players, but getting back some of the injured
ones from last season -- Ryan Clady, Von Miller and Chris Harris among them --is

3. San Francisco: This is a deep, talented team that has added some nice pieces. But

How did u get into your profession/talent?
As a teacher I have always taught children creative
writing skills and wanted the opportunity to develop
my own writing. After coming out as gay at the age of
30 which led to the breakdown of my marriage I wanted to share my story to help others in similar situations
or to help others understand the complexity of sexuality.
What are some the obstacles have you encountered?
The biggest challenge has been marketing and promoting the book and reaching the audience as the market is
saturated with so many new books. Finding the time to
write new material is also challenging whilst still working full time.
Are you seeing success?
Slowly but surely the interest is growing and the feedback has been amazing.

The honest and rawness of my writing makes me different especially
when writing a true story. I have revealed everything in order to connect with the reader.
Talk about your Idols/Influences/Heroes
My grandfather was my hero but sadly he died recently. I always looked up to him as he was so charming
and was liked by everyone. I have been influenced by many other authors such as Rochelle Weinstein and
Frank Spinelli. I admire anyone who has the courage to stand up and be honest especially celebrities who
have come out as gay.
What projects have done and are doing? Elaborate, please.
I am currently working on my second novel which will be romantic gay fiction. Hopefully this will be out
next year :-)

It's understandable why you have been feeling confused, because the topics that
you are asking about are some of the greatest mysteries in this life. I won’t be
able to answer your questions completely, but I do have a few thoughts for you
and some resources – thoughts from people who know more than I do! Let’s
tackle these questions one at a time:
Why is lust a sin?
Lust is a disordered desire for sexual pleasure. Desiring sexual pleasure is not a sin – we were all created as souls that
live within bodies, and our bodies naturally desire sexual union because we were created to keep the human race going
(check out the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraphs 2331-2392). We all have these feelings within us. They
become sinful, though, when they become disordered, meaning when we engage in them outside the proper context. The
proper context for sexual expression is within marriage. God created sex to strengthen marriages – so husbands and wives
would become fully unified and create new life.
That becomes disordered when we engage in sexual expression outside marriage. That can mean a million different
things: a person who is married wanting to sleep with someone other than their spouse, an unmarried person engaging in
sexual activity, anyone using pornography, and so many other things.
The virtue of chastity helps us to combat the sin of lust, because chastity is about respecting sex and all sexual things so
much that they are held in a place of honor and respect – marriage. Chastity also helps us maintain purity of not just our
bodies, but our hearts, minds, and souls as well, because chastity is about more than just the physical. Chastity helps us be
more loving people, because we don’t see others as objects for our sexual pleasure, but as people created to be loved and
respected. You mentioned that our every action should glorify the Lord, and you’re right. When we live out the virtue of
chastity, the purity of our love for them brings glory to God. It also keeps our bodies – temples of the Holy Spirit – pure
and clean.
Perhaps the biggest reason that lust is a sin is because it destroys love. We were all created to love, and we all seek love.
Pope John Paul II said that the opposite of love is not hate, but use – i.e. to use another person. When we engage in lust,
of any kind, we are using another person for our own sexual pleasure. Lust can look a lot like love, especially in our culture where sex outside of marriage is no big deal and pornography is common. But our culture is full of lies. Lust destroys
our ability to love by making us selfish. Love is about giving yourself to another person. Lust is about taking from another
for self-satisfaction.
In Matthew 15, a group of Pharisees is trying to get Jesus in trouble because he ate some food that was considered ritually ‘unclean.’ He responded by saying that it’s not what enters a man that makes him unclean, but what comes out, because evil thoughts, blasphemy, unchastity, and so many other sins come from our hearts. In Matthew 5:28, Jesus said that
‘whoever looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.’ Just as chastity purifies our
bodies, hearts, minds, and souls, lust contaminates our bodies, hearts, minds, and souls. And so the sin of lust causes us to
use other people and damage our own souls.
This is pretty serious stuff – in the New Testament book of James, he writes that ‘each person is tempted when he is
lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire conceives and brings forth sin, and when sin reaches maturity it gives
birth to death’ (James 1:14). Like all sins, lust leads to death. We were not created to die. We were created to live forever
with God. Lust is a serious roadblock on our path to heaven. By choosing the virtue of chastity, living it the best we can,
and confessing our sins of lust whenever we commit them, we are better able to love others and grow in holiness.

I’ve written about the amazing things our Police
Athletic League does for urban-core youth on a
number of occasions, and this Thursday, they’re
giving some of them an amazing opportunity they’ll remember for the rest
of their lives.
The PAL Predators tackle football team will play at halftime of the Kansas
City Chiefs pre-season game at Arrowhead Stadium this Thursday, Aug. 7.
The team will be made up of 10- to 12-year old boys, most of whom are
playing tackle football for the first time. The PAL team is part of KC United, a sports initiative involving young people from all over the metro area. The goal of KC United is
for leaders and mentors throughout the city to use sports to reach young people, part of the same philosophy used at PAL.
The Chiefs’ halftime game was set up by KC United to provide a few of the boys in the program a once
-in-a-lifetime chance to stand on the field at Arrowhead Stadium. Most of the players in the PAL football program have never been to Arrowhead, so actually playing on the field will be an experience
they’ll always remember.
The PAL football program is in its third year of operation. Last year, more than 15 teams played at
the PAL Center at 1801 White Ave., and the Center hosted many games. The championship games for
four separate age divisions were played under the lights at the PAL field, which was a first for most of
the young people in the program. The PAL eighth-grade team last year was undefeated, and the starting quarterback from last year's team is actually starting at quarterback for a local high school team
this year as a freshman.
Through generous donations from local businesses and individuals, the PAL field is fully irrigated with
a sprinkler system, has stadium lights and is professionally maintained by a local landscaping company. There is a new kitchen/concession area being built at the PAL Center, with most of the new equipment having been donated. The result is the kids are able to play at a very first-rate facility, and teams
come in from all over the metro area to play on the PAL field.
Currently, the PAL football program has two tackle football teams, more than a dozen volunteer
coaches and approximately 60 players involved. The program has doubled in size from last year, and
the quality and caliber of the program is growing each year.

This list of tips for mental/emotional wellness may help with the transition process.

used to the new environment.
3) Give yourself time. You’ll need time to relax and reflect upon what is going on
around you, how you are reacting to it, and what you might like to change.
4) Understand that the familiar will seem different. You have changed; home has
changed. You will see familiar people, places, and behaviors from new perspectives.
5) Expect to do some ‘cultural catching up’. Clothes, trends, language, and more have
changed, too!
6) Reserve judgments. Reserve all judgments of others, but especially negative judgments, just as you would like to have others reserve judgments of you. Resist the impulse to make snap decisions.
7) Expect mood swings. It is entirely possible for you to feel ecstatic one moment and
completely defeated a short time later. It’s okay; it is a part of the process.
8) Allow sufficient time for reflection and self-analysis. Your most valuable analysis
of an event is likely to take place after allowing time for reflection.
9) Respond to inquiries thoughtfully and carefully. Prepare to greet surprise questions with a calm, thoughtful, approach. If you find yourself being overly defensive
or aggressive, take a deep breath and relax.
10) Seek support networks. Don't isolate yourself!

When I was about 9 yrs. old, I heard Biggie (Smalls) on Ready To Die and I knew then, I wanted to be a hiphop artist. I didn't seriously, start
rapping until much later when I heard the Slim Shady LP.

Life...everyday obstacles, I mean you could listen to "menace to society" on my Ep... "Available on iTunes and all major online outlets. Lol..."

"I'm grinding everyday like I'm not. I don't have a Grammy (yet.)"

have also began writing and
recording songs to my untitled LP set to be released early next year!

Modeling has always been my passion. My strong look and outgoing personality attracted the right people! From photo shoots to runway shows I always
worked hard to build my experience and gain exposure.

NFL TRIVIA! FILL IN THE BLANKS...IF YOU CAN!
Check out these interesting National Football League tidbits.
1. In 1943, the Detroit Lions and New York Giants battled it out to the tune of a 0-0 tie. The last such
scoreless game in NFL history.
2. In 2009, Brandon Marshall caught 21 passes for 200 yards and 2 TDs. Those 21 receptions are an NFL
record. To put it more in perspective, Sam Aiken, the Patriots 3rd WR in 2009, caught just 20 passes all
season!
3. When the AFL was first forming in 1960, the NFL did everything it could to block the rival league.
The Oakland Raiders were supposed to be the Minnesota Raiders but the NFL setup the Vikings to steal
the fan base there. Similarly, the Cowboys were added to block the Dallas Texans. The Texans tried there
luck in Dallas anyways and were unsuccessful so they moved in 1963. You know them today as the Kansas City Chiefs.
4. In 1977, Walter Payton rushed for 275 yards against the Minnesota Vikings despite being horribly sick with the Flu.
5. In 1979, Payton rushed, caught, and threw a TD all in the
same game (which was also against the poor Vikings). The only
other player to do this in the last 40 some odd years was David
Patten in 2001 against the Colts.
6. In 1942, Hall of Fame WR Don Hutson of the Packers led the
league with 74 receptions. The WR in 2nd place caught just 27.
7. The longest non-scoring play from scrimmage was a 98 yard
pass play from Jim Hart to Bobby Moore in 1972 when Moore
was dragged down at the 1 yard line. You know Moore today by
the name Ahmad Rashad. This leads us nicely to…
8. Tom Brady’s 99 yard TD pass to Wes Welker marked the 14th
scoring play of 99 yards from scrimmage and was also the catalyst for me writing this article. The other 99 yard plays are:

9. Due to many of the players being enlisted in WWII, the 1943 Pittsburgh Steelers had to combine with
the Philadelphia Eagles to form the “Steagles“. The Steagles had a very forgettable record of 5-4-1 that
year but the next year Pittsburgh combined which the Chicago Cardinals and went 0-10. They became
known around the league as “CarPit” as they scored just 108 points offensively.
10. The 1976 and 1977 Bucs were downright PUTRID combining to win just 2 games in 28 tries. Their
QBs combined to throw 12 TDs to 50 INTs!! However, facing an 0-12 campaign in 1977, these Bucs were
set to face the equally rotten Saints. Then Saints QB Archie Manning (yes Peyton and Eli’s dad) made
some remarks about how the game should be an easy one for New Orleans to win. In typical big game
Manning fashion, Archie delivered a passing performance of 154 yards, 1 TD, and 3 INT as the Bucs rolled
over the Saints 33-14 for their first ever franchise win.
11. In 1997, Brad Johnson threw a TD to himself. Now why can’t the guys on my fantasy team do things
like this??? ugh.
12. In 2008, the Detroit Lions one upped the Bucs by going 0-16 and they did it with style too surrendering an astounding 517 points and nearly
6,500 yards with their ’00 Ravens-esque
defense.

Yes I've done a few shows in KC. I've also done a
few photo-shoots. But I'm not stopping until everyone sees what I see in my talent!

What makes you different? I'm not like everyone else for I don't shop for looks on the web and go
mimic that look. I can imagine a look in my head get up throw it together and be amazingly gorgeous.

How did u get into your profession/talent? My sister (R.I.P) taught me how to sing/
harmonize and Rhyme. I carried it on, when I came to the U.S I was mentored by NO I.D
to find my niche, after which Mikie Da Poet then mentored me mostly. I have no particular genre in fact I do every genre that comes to my heart.
What are some the obstacles have you encountered? Professionally or in Life? Lol wow that's
a lot of obstacles to tell. I'm writing a book. Honestly, understanding how the industry itself functions outside of what the everyday civilian understands. Its not a walk in the
park. Let's save this section for a live video documentary of some sort, its a lot. I will say
I'm blessed to express my self musically to the world.
Are you seeing success? Yes, I have a vision of it, I see progress everyday, I have independently been signed and as for now pushing for the bigger platform of investors or distribution deals. I carry my own Brand BFuego Apparel. Yes there is so

Hello. I have a son that is 20 years old. I have been a single
mother all his
life. Rarely, did I get a child support payment. I held my own with
the help of
my Dad who was a single parent also. I learned how to be strong from
him.
Honestly, I don't regret my life or my son AT ALL… I do regret having to
raise my child without the other parent. I am sure many women feel the same as

I do. We love our children, just can’t believe the other parent disappearing. It really devastates the child. If, I said I regret it then, that means I regret my boy and I have no regrets
about him at all. We were both young...he was there some of his childhood then when he got
married he was a ghost. My son has a hard time til this day dealing with him. My Dad helped
me raise him and my best friend Book Money taught him street smarts. My best friend was
there for him allot during his teenage years he was a great role model. He is still here and in
my son’s life. Book has his own kids but still gives my son knowledge and advise and makes
sure he is ok. I really can't say I regret my son's father because he is half of him and I love
my son. We don't grow up and say “oh I want to be a single Mom” but when it happens, we
deal with it and learn to live with it. We deal with the heart break of no birthday gifts,
Christmas gifts or the endless promises of "I will take you out this weekend and we can
hang" Then Sunday comes around, after all hopes were up and dad never shows. We deal with
that heartache. We try to make it feel better....that's all we can do as single mothers.... Love
our kids.

Ingredients
4 Puddings
1 Lemon Juice
1 Coffemate coffee Creamer
4 snack size Oreos
Directions
Put the pudding in a bowl and slowly mix in the creamer and the lemon juice to make it thick. Crush the
Oreos. Put flat in bowl then pour the pudding over it then sprinkle more crushed Oreos on top. Put on ice
for 3-5 hours and then you will enjoy a Prison Cheesecake.
Hot Lemonade
As simple as it sounds, hot lemonade is a life saver. You can’t go buy Theraflu in
prison and it is a remarkably effective substitute. Good for sore throats, nagging coughs. A major cold
can seriously sicken 50%+ of inmates since everyone is so packed together. Hot Tang is almost as good.
Sharing some hot lemonade with sick people in prison is a good way to build relationships without people expecting you to join their gang.
Take one package of dry ramen, crumble up. Add 1 teaspoon of water and the seasoning
packet. Microwave for about 8 minutes. I strongly suggest putting a glass of water in the microwave also
so you don’t kill the microwave. Let cool for 15 minutes.
Optional ingredients hot sauce and or cheese.

HOW TO FIRE YOUR LAWYER (If you retained him via $$$)

20-Minute Workout: Do Anywhere Drills

1. Warm Up
Do each of these moves for 1 minute:
Walk with high kicks: Extend arms at shoulder height in front of you. Step with right foot,
then try to kick left hand with left foot, keeping leg straight. Repeat with right foot. Alternate sides. Jog with high knees: Try to raise knees to chest.
 Do side shuffle: 5 steps left, then right. Skip with high knees.
2. Agility Shuffle and Squat
 At 5-yard intervals, set up 3 cones (or any markers). Stand at middle cone. Run to left
cone, bend down to touch it, run to right cone, touch it, then run back to middle.
Perform 20 squat jumps (squat, jump up as high as you can, then land back in squat). Repeat
set 3 times. Rest for 1 minute.
3. Box Drill/Plank

Set up 4 cones (or markers) in a square, with 10 yards between each pair.
 Start at one corner, run to first cone, side shuffle to second, run backwards to third, and
side shuffle to fourth.
Then get into plank position (forearms on ground, back straight, toes tucked under) and hold
for 30 seconds. Repeat set 3 times. Rest for 1 minute.
4. Sprints
Sprint 100 yards (or 15 to 25 seconds). Walk back to starting place. Do 5 reps.

I never realized there was anything else I could do. I was playing the piano as soon as I
could reach the keys, writing songs at 7, singing in the church choir and then it just proceeded from there. So for me, this is what I was always going to do.
Being female. This is because so much of what goes on in this business requires that you
are assertive and strong. If you don't stand up for yourself then people will walk all over
you. When a man is assertive we call him assertive. And when a woman is assertive it labeled as being bitchy.

As a woman there are also many people that will make promises to give you all types of
things in music. But as a woman there are many who offer these things in exchange for
sexual favors. That is not something that I entertain.
I am seeing success! I have an active and loyal fan base. They are very supportive of my
music and encourage me so much. I have also received some great feedback on my music
from DJs, radio personalities and people in the industry. I am excited about the response
so far! It is so motivating to have people react to my music like this.

1) Each song deals with a challenge, not to dwell on it but to deal with an issue. I write
songs that uplift people not by ignoring the dark but facing it and dealing with it. I think it
is very important that we deal

my 'Anything for Diamonds'

tells us, especially women, to
react to fame. We are told to
compromise our self respect,

I started as an adult, taking classes at Columbia College and Second City Chicago. From
there, I began auditioning for things I'd hear about through the grapevine of networking,
and from there it just led to the next step then the next then the next...
Rejection rejection rejection! Did I mention rejection? This biz has no formula - it's not like you can
go to undergrad, take the MCAT, go to med school,
do a residency, pass your boards, then BAM you're
an actor. Some people make it quickly, some people
it takes decades, some never make it at all. Some
with less talent are more successful than those with
more. So you can't let it get you down if this is
what you're pursuing. And there are so many sacrifices made. Moving away from family, your
hometown, working odd jobs or just not being able
to buy that big house with that stable, Corporate
gig. Relationships can suffer or not exist. There's a
lot. But again, if it's what you love, you do what
you can to fit it all in.

Hmm, the best story is when I saw Annie. I was 7 years old. When the orphans were singing It's a Hard Knock Life, I was instantly mesmerized. I wanted to be Pepper because I
liked her name. And she was sassy. All those orphans in that movie made me want to act.
Right now, I'm working on That Guy. It's a YouTube series under Black & Sexy TV. We
just wrapped season 2 and are in production for a movie.

Is prison the only answer?

The reality is that prison is essential for serious and serial offenders who pose a grave threat to society. However, at figures
of over 85,000, England and Wales currently have the highest
imprisonment rate in Western Europe. Moreover, there will be
over 100,000 prisoners in three years’ time – that’s enough
people to fill the Royal Albert Hall nearly 20 times over.
Our over reliance on the current penal system is not only financially unsound, but also highlights our outdated approach
to dealing with offenders. Picture the scene of a young single
mother of two who commits an offence, let’s say minor theft.
Should we, in good conscience, put this young woman in jail for this non-violent offence? Or can we find
more alternative provisions that will enable her to see the consequences of her actions without contributing to
the disintegration of her family? Research shows that imprisoning mothers for non-violent offences has a damaging impact on children and carries a cost to the state of more than £17 million over a ten-year period.
Evidence also suggests that prison, in isolation, does not even prevent re-offence, with nearly 70% of all prisoners re-offending within two years of release. Many forget that the deprivation of liberty is the punishment of
a crime and so the whole aim of a prison sentence is to rehabilitate and to provide offenders with the skills and
education to equip them for life after prison. With half of all prisoners lacking the skills required to successfully fulfil the majority of jobs on the market, we seem to have lost sight of this vision. If prison cannot offer an
offender any hope or aspirations of a having a better life than the one they had before, then it is time we had a
drastic rethink
We live in a society that places its emphasis on the ‘what’ of a crime; we need to change our approach to drag
focus over to the ‘why’. Over two thirds of male sentenced prisoners suffer from two or more mental disorders
while many are already on the fringes of society, having been brought up in care. Many offenders are people
who were homeless beforehand, with low levels of literacy or are survivors of domestic abuse.
We have to re-evaluate the approach that would further isolate these vulnerable people from their families and communities. Vilifying these offenders
and putting them all in prison will not resolve the situation. Instead, we need
to try and understand the nature and the motive of each crime, enabling us to
give a punishment more fitting to the person and the situation. How can a
person suffering from a learning disability, who may have a limited ability
to cope with the criminal justice system, receive the same punishment as
someone fully aware of their actions?
Instead of throwing money at the penal system, we need to follow the example of our Scandinavian counterparts, who are putting more emphasis put on
heavy community service and other alternatives such as reformative justice.
This way, families are more likely to stay together and those children are
less likely to be placed in care. Instead of a child growing up with a parent
bouncing in and out of custody, children can grow up in a more stable family unit and are able to directly see the consequences of a crime. Seeing their mother or father having to do
community service every day, as opposed to being an elusive figure they rarely see, is a much more positive
and educative image for a child.
Alternative sentences such as mental health, drug programs and job training can bring about such positive
changes, as can organized community service. According to research by the Prison Reform Trust, nearly
56,000 people successfully completed community payback sentences in 2008, amounting to over eight million
hours of beneficial labor in the community.
We need to step up and leave the, ‘tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime’, rhetoric of our present
and previous politicians behind and take a new approach, relevant for the current day. Prison reform is not a
‘light touch’ approach to dealing with offenders. It’s giving weight to constructive rehabilitation over old fashioned retribution, acknowledging the power of the carrot over the stick.
Prison is not always the answer, but having a good and honest sense of moral judgment is.

Tha MESSAGE is no stranger to struggle, born into a blue collar family
with a long line of field and mill workers. His father a diesel mechanic
worked long hours and many different shifts to support his mother and him.
His mother worked different jobs throughout the years but due to her bouts
with Bi-polar made it difficult to hold down a job. Throughout his youth
he moved many times being forced to try to fit in he was often teased
about his weight among other thing such as his own struggle with being bipolar and ADHD. His family eventually settled in in his fathers’ home
state of Idaho, after moving from his native state of North Carolina and
then Arizona prior to his move to the Northwest.
Tha MESSAGE began his love affair with music after his grandmother passed
away, she was a published author and passed before she could see her first
book published. He made the promise to himself to take on her legacy and
to continue working through his words just like she had, he started simply
by writing poetry and then that transitioned into rhyme. In 2003 after receiving his first portable CD player and a rap CD he was inspired by the
tracks he heard, he soon found that hip hop could speak to him and soothe
his soul. So he started the slow but steady journey into becoming one of
the best artists in his state. Before he knew it his headphones became as
familiar to him as any part of his body, he would often spend hours closed

up in his room listening to his favorite rappers and writing his own
rhymes along to their songs.
Soon after having a string of conflicts with his principal and school
staff he dropped out to pursue a career in music. Around that same time
his family had lost their home, and he found out that his mother had secretly become a meth addict which further intensified the conflicts within
his home life. Thus his music became his only release, his mother surprised him with his first piece of recording equipment. An ancient karaoke
machine with dual tape recorders and a 20 dollar microphone from radio
shack. After that it was magic, he started recording on any beat he could
find even holding his mic up to speakers to record a beat to cut a track
on. As his skills progressed so did his knowledge, being a self taught
artist he soon learned of the ability to record on software. So he upped
his game, spreading like wild fire across the Northwest scene through use
of social networking and word to mouth and as time progressed he began to
develop his persona.
He first chose the name MESSAGE because he felt as if his music served a
purpose, he wanted to spread a message of hope or awareness to the masses
all while delivering lyrics that everyone on the struggle can relate to.
Once being quoted saying ” at the end of the day if my music doesn’t touch
your soul and fill your heart with hope, then I haven’t done my job as an
artist” he soon grew to a high underground level with countless high reviews from A&R, numerous collabs, a full length mixtape, over 42,000 plays
with just word of mouth support, a global fan list, and 2 magazine reviews
and one feature. He left home when he turned 18, that’s when his journey
into true poverty began. Due to being in the heat of the recession he had
trouble finding work and lived for 2 months on nothing more than 10 dollars a week, after finally finding work through a staffing agency he was
still only able to pay his bills. And eventually paid the price by losing
30 pounds due to high stress and malnourishment.
Things eventually went sour and he spent a short stint back home with his
parents before moving in with his fiancé, Life seemed to finally be coming
together for him but that was short lived. Again struggling to find work
and having disagreements with his fiancé he began to look for an out, he
soon found one in spice. A street drug that was legal at the time and provided a way for him to ‘get away” from his problems. But unknown to him
the spice he was using was being cut with bath salts which made it a chemical equivalent of PCP and meth mixed together, which made him spiral into
a deep addiction. After a long and hellish 8 months of battling his vice
he finally was able to quit the use of the drug during his trip to NYC to
meet with his first major label, Eminem's Shady Records.

He spent two days in his hotel room going through detox waiting for the
day of his meeting, though he did not get a deal from this encounter with
Shady Records he was offered insider advice on the industry and had his
now current name Tha MESSAGE coined. After returning home and spending two
more weeks in detox he began having nervous breakdowns, he was suicidal,
and in deep depression but thanks to the support of his fiancé, family,
and friends he was able to pick himself back up and continue working on
his passion. But it was almost cut short as well after being arrested and
put in county jail on charges that stemmed from his time as an addict, after serving his time and being released he made the choice to start to
better himself and stop letting foolish things stand in the way of his
dream.
As of late 2012 and on into 2013 he has come back full force using each of
his demons as fuel to an ever burning fire that continues to drive him to
greatness, though he is still on the struggle on for him the work never
stops he still feel his time is coming shortly. He knows he destined for
something amazing, he intends to never stop until he finally gets the
recognition he deserves and hopes that all his fans will continue to support him and help him to continue to spread Tha MESSAGE!

be behind the decks. No room for ease, mixing, we
must work and DJ Zé know soon enough

Offenders: What Were They Thinking?
How often have correctional staff asked that particular question? Or how often have staff thought (but not
actually said): “ If you had taken a moment to think, perhaps you wouldn't be here right now”. There are all
those stereotypes about offenders: impulsive, self-centered, want it now, don’t plan ahead, suffer from thinking errors, and sometimes can be behaviorally described as “6 foot four-year olds”. Correctional professionals
read the classics like Samenow and Yochelson’s “The Criminal Personality” and Samenow’s “Inside the Criminal Mind” (as well as all the literature that follows) and then try to unlock and modify the “criminal personality” in order to change behavior, rehabilitate, and impact recidivism. The results are some fairly sophisticated behavior-change models that can take rigorous training, credentialing, and preparation to implement.
Have you ever given a thought to this, that whether criminal should be rehabilitated or punished? 50% people agree that they should be punished and 50% agree that they should be given a chance. There is equal debate on both the sides. The dilemma on the other hand has been that our defense system of righteousness has
tried hard to recover prisoners while on the other hand they are punished. This has been a depressing breakdown. There is a much superior substitute. Criminals generally have a bad education. Therefore they do not
find good jobs. After they are released from the prison they usually get low paying jobs because no one want
to hire a criminal or thief and it becomes tough for them to survive. When they come back to their home,
they are again connected with the society and they go through the torture again. They have no one to support them and lead a normal life. Therefore they come back on the same track and become a criminal again.
People aren’t born with a criminal background. There are certain factors that provoke many to become criminals. Society should make an attempt to give them opportunities to get back to their non prison life and help
them to use the help of criminal rehabilitation center. Educate them on what lies ahead if they continue their
life of crime. We must choose to help stop the propensity of youth to commit crimes. And, assist those that
seek help. Habilitation and/or rehabilitation is the way to easy prison overcrowding.

When talking to a suicidal person
Do:
Be yourself. Let the person know you care, that he/she is not alone. The right words are often unimportant. If you are concerned, your voice and manner will show it.
Listen. Let the suicidal person unload despair, ventilate anger. No matter how negative the conversation
seems, the fact that it exists is a positive sign.
Be sympathetic, non-judgmental, patient, calm, accepting. Your friend or family member is doing the right
thing by talking about his/her feelings.
Offer hope. Reassure the person that help is available and that the suicidal feelings are temporary. Let the
person know that his or her life is important to you.
If the person says things like, “I’m so depressed, I can’t go on,” ask the question: “Are you having
thoughts of suicide?” You are not putting ideas in their head, you are showing that you are concerned,
that you take them seriously, and that it’s OK for them to share their pain with you.
But don’t:
Argue with the suicidal person. Avoid saying things like: "You have so much to live for," "Your suicide will
hurt your family," or “Look on the bright side.”
Act shocked, lecture on the value of life, or say that suicide is wrong.
Promise confidentiality. Refuse to be sworn to secrecy. A life is at stake and you may need to speak to a
mental health professional in order to keep the suicidal person safe. If you promise to keep your discussions secret, you may have to break your word.
Offer ways to fix their problems, or give advice, or make them feel like they have to justify their suicidal
feelings. It is not about how bad the problem is, but how badly it’s hurting your friend or loved one.
Blame yourself. You can’t “fix” someone’s depression. Your loved one’s happiness, or lack thereof, is not
your responsibility.

I think that music is still art, even if it's commercialized.

My real name is Amethyst. It sounds like a stage name. My mom is kind of crazy.

I was a kid watching music videos, which were so cool and made me want to learn how to
dance. I wish I could've gone to dance classes and learn, like, hip-hop dancing.

There's an obligation to not lead people down the wrong path, but I hardly think me wearing
short shorts on stage is creating monsters.

'Iggy' was my dog - he was named after Iggy Pop - and 'Azalea' is the street where I grew
up; together, they have the right amount of syllables to make the perfect name.

I think you can say anybody uses anything as a gimmick. Is Adele's not having gimmicks her
gimmick? It's hard to say, isn't it? Really, I think that everybody has something that people
like or that's great about them.

I think stupid people are surprised that I'm Australian. It's a small-minded; we live in a global
community, but I suppose some people still are small-minded.

I didn't have cable television growing up; there were only six channels you could watch then. The
only really good channel was channel 10, and they would play 'The Nanny Called Fran' every night
for years. I've seen every episode 100 times. I would get my Grandma to make me leopard skin
dresses on her sewing machine.

is a rapper from Detroit, MI. He brings his message from his life experiences growing up in
the inner-city and the rhymes come from seeing life through those eyes and told by the
bricks of the hood. His reality rap is often described as having a West Indies and Caribbean
influence in its delivery.
He has been on many mixed tapes; garnered respect from some of the industry’s top DJs

I wrote poems and would freestyle. Then more and
more people were telling me that I should do this
seriously. I worked with Revolver from the group
Cobaine that I am part of and he taught me about
song structure.
Some of the obstacles is figuring out who you can
trust and how to make a mark for yourself in this
industry. I want to stay true to myself and the message I want to carry. I do not just make rhymes, I
try to bring a message in my music.
I am seeing a lot of success! I have been steadily building a fan base and it is international. I have fans in
Germany, UK, Canada, South Africa and the US. My management team, RhymeSchemeInc, has also
been working to get my music to a broader audience, which has resulted in some great new opportunities.
I was one of two artists chosen by DJ Blak Boy to be part of Hood Shit the Mixtape that was released end
of July which has garnered a lot of attention. I have been chosen as Artist of Tha Month on Soundz
Taight – Tha Indie Spot following requests from fans after an interview I did end of June. I am currently
being featured on Blockz Magazine and will be in an issue in the fall. DJ Bobby Flirt did a remix of my
song The World Today featuring Nyack that was released to a German fan base. CDXX did a remix of my
song 4 Letters to give it a dancehall reggae feel and will be played on some Caribbean radio stations in the
coming weeks.

Lyricist, reality rapper, versatile
Rap is a form of therapy and I bring rhymes with an old school hip hop feel. I speak a few languages. I
want to build this to a level that I am in a position to give back to the community. I did that with some
of the proceeds from All Black to schools in LA and want to do that as often as I can.
Tell the readers 3 of your pet peeves.
-People that are in this business that offer services but then do not honor their end of the deal. I see so
many new artists that get taken by these deals.
-It is discouraging when to see artists who do not invest in themselves but expect it to be handed to them.
To each their own...but artists need to invest in themselves. Show pride in their work.
What makes me different is my versatility. My strong lyrical style. I want to bring meaning in my songs
and keep some old school hip hop in my music.
Talk about your Idols/Influences/Heroes/
Some of my influences include my uncle who supported me as I started in the music business. I also have
a lot of respect for Tupac, Nas and KRS-one.
We have a lot going on. Currently we are working to bring All Black to a broader audience. We have two
recent remixes that have dropped from the album including the 4 Letters remix by CDXX and the remix
by DJ Bobby Fllirt of The World today featuring Nyack. I also have a new single coming out in the next
few months called Business with Pleasure featuring Young Noble from the Outlawz and Yukmouth of the
Luniz.
