Nestled right in the heart of Lake Country, Pewaukee’s sparkling gem, Pewaukee Lake is the largest lake in Waukesha County. Pewaukee Lake offers a host of activities, eclectic shopping and delectable food. It seems everyone has his or her own reason to love the lake. Anglers flock to Pewaukee Lake from all over for some of the best fishing in the state – our lake is even 3 262-542-0330 | visitwaukesha.org one of the top spots in Wisconsin to land a 50-plus-inch muskie! Water sport enthusiasts are drawn to the lake’s calm surface for thrilling afternoons of water skiing, paddleboarding, wakeboarding and tubing. Adventureseekers are drawn here to set out in canoes or kayaks to follow the shoreline and explore each inviting inlet. Whatever brings you to Pewaukee the first time, the area’s stunning natural beauty, boundless activities and warm and welcoming spirit will be sure to bring you back. Maybe you’re more the romantic type? In that case, why not savor a sunset cruise on a luxury pontoon boat or enjoy a scenic stroll along the shore? Or if you’re looking for an event the whole family will love, it’s hard to beat a day at our sandy beach complete with an area reserved for frolicking in the shallows and swimming. Our charming beach and lakefront park also set the stage for even more excitement. All summer long, you can enjoy weekly water ski shows and lakeside concerts featuring top area talent. And as if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a rousing multi-sport weekend and annual food festival to fill out our packed lineup of events. It’s where the flavor of a big city comes together with the hospitality of a small town. Waukesha is a little out-of-the-ordinary. And far beyond what you might expect. Just 20 minutes down the interstate west of Milwaukee, Waukesha is located at the intriguing intersection of the old and the new, the historic and the hip, the quaint and the contemporary. It’s what makes the city such an unforgettable place to discover and explore. 5 262-542-0330 | visitwaukesha.org Take our downtown area, for instance. Here you can walk down a street of stately buildings more than a century old. But turn into a doorway and you may find a modern boutique, artsy eatery or offbeat café. Take a quick stroll from our bustling business district and you may happen upon a tranquil park nestled beside a picture-book river. Waukesha holds other surprises in store, as well. For instance, there’s the fact that we’re the seventh-largest city in Wisconsin. Just big enough to offer “big city” attractions like luxury accommodations, a wide range of restaurants and exciting things to do, but small enough to know how to treat our guests. Big enough to boast our own airport, enchanting riverwalk, weekly farmers’ market and concert series each summer, small enough to keep most attractions just an easy stroll away. Something else you may not know? Waukesha was the birthplace of the legendary Les Paul, the inventor of the solid body guitar (and some would say, in the process, Rock ‘n’ Roll.) Outside of town, still more surprises await your discovery. Perhaps it’s the lush green of a tree-lined fairway on one of our highly rated golf courses. Maybe it’s the stirring quiet of the woods waiting down one of our scenic hiking or biking trails. Or maybe it’s something only you’ll know once you find it. TOP 6 WAUKETHINGS TO D O IN SHA 1. Because the area offers even more delectable ways to satisfy it. ASIANA We start with breakfast. It’s not just the most important meal of the day, it may also be the tastiest. Especially when it’s cooked to order and served with freshly brewed coffee, like you’ll find at any number of inviting coffee shops, cafés and locally owned restaurants. Of course, while you’re enjoying your morning meal, you may also want to discuss the other tempting dining options you’ll want to enjoy during your stay. The eateries along Pewaukee Lake serve up scenic views as enticing as their menu offerings. There’s always the trendy bistros in town folks rave about, too. Or, just kick back and enjoy a burger at one of several pubs and burger joints. You really can’t go wrong. If you’ve got a taste for ethnic dining, you’ve got a whole world of choices. You’ll find authentic Mexican and German restaurants, along with Italian, Asian-fusion and sushi, Greek and more. Of course, for a real taste of Wisconsin, try one of our classic American supper clubs and reserve Friday evening for a fish fry! Be sure to save room for dessert at a local custard stand or ice cream shoppe! One thing’s for sure. With all the dining choices available to you, anything you crave is met with the delicious options. 17 262-542-0330 | visitwaukesha.org 1198 George Towne Drive Pewaukee, WI 53072 262-695-3888 asianadining.com Monday-Thursday: 11am-2:30pm; 4:30pm-10pm Friday: 11am-2:30pm; 4:30pm-11pm Saturday: 11:30am-11pm Sunday: 4pm-9:30pm n FENG’S KITCHEN 1840 Meadow Lane Waukesha, WI 53188 fengskitchen.com Monday-Thursday: 11am-10pm Friday: 11am-11pm Saturday: 11am-11pm Sunday: 12pm-9:30pm n b Friday Fish Fry F Lakeside Dining Z Breakfast n Lunch GOLDEN GATE RESTAURANT 1427 E.
