International Master of Sport Management (MISM) The International Master of Sport Management (MISM) is a professional one-year study program which will give you the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills to excel in the sports industry. This Master is for individuals who have a passion for sport and wish to further develop their professional career in the sport sector. It is especially appropriate for athletes, coaches and sport leaders who feel a need for practical and in-depth knowledge of sport management through an international academic program. The MISM is delivered in English and is offered from September to June in Amsterdam. OBJECTIVES The International Master of Sport Management aims to provide you with a critical understanding of sport management and the ability to apply this knowledge effectively. This program will provide you with: Knowledge of the different aspects of effective leadership. The principles of strategic management. The most innovative practices in sport marketing. The principles of financial management, fundraising and revenue creation. The fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Management skills and their application. Upon completion of the program, you will be equipped with the necessary skills to hold a managerial position within a sport business, organization or foundation. METHODOLOGY The study program includes multi-disciplinary coursework, case studies, individual research, team projects, and experiental learning, providing you with valuable skills to advance your career. All study materials used during the Master are sports oriented and you participate actively in the learning process. NETWORK The program is developed under the advice of sport leaders and an international team of curriculum experts, who together assure that the program meets the required academic standards. DURATION The program has 250 contact hours and additional 600 study hours over a 10-month period starting in September. The International Master of Sport Management provides 25 CEU’s (North-American IACET) REQUIREMENTS A bachelors’ degree (HBO or university); or A minimum 3 years working experience. DIPLOMA Students who successfully complete the program are awarded the International Master of Sport Management diploma acknowledged by the Johan Cruyff Institute for Sport Studies. Accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
