Alto Adige
surface from the cold winds of Northern Europe.
Located in the Northern part of Italy, which borders
Austria, the Alto Adige is one of the smallest
wine production zones of Italy. Notwithstanding
this however, it has a high number of vineyards
of varying sizes, all dedicated to cultivating a
little more than 5000 hectares. The soils are
characterized by the different altitudes (in some
cases, 1000 meters above sea level), as well as
by the varying geological compositions such as
marl, limestone, shale, dolomite stone, gravel, and
clay.
The vine cultivation of the Alto Adige is composed
in great part by those of white grapes, equaling
60% of the total production. The most common
of these are:
• Gewürztraminer: literally “spiced” Traminer,
present in 10% of the overall territory.
• Sauvignon Blanc: cultivated in 7% of the
territory, the zones most suited are the South
Tyrol and the Val Venosta.
• Kerner: variety born from the union of
Trollinger and Riesling. Late harvest grape.
Very widespread, qualitatively speaking, in
the Val Venosta.
• Pinot Bianco: a vine of great elegance and
acidity. Cultivated in 10% of the territory.
• Chardonnay: very diffuse in the area
All this, combined with a rather high number of
vines and enological styles, render the Alto Adige
one of the most dynamic production areas of the
entire Italian enological panorama.
The climate of the Alto Adige is influenced in a
very positive way, by the Alps, which protect the

• Bassa Atesina: heights up to 1000 meters
above sea level, calcareous rocks, and
dolostone, particularly in the Termeno area.
Territory with a distinct trait of about 70%
white grapes.
• Bolzano: area of reds, native to the Lagrein
and to the Schiava.
• Oltradige: the most noted and important
areas are those of the Appiano and of the
Lago di Caldaro. Slight prevalence of white
varietals.
• Valle dell’Adige: wines of strong flavor.
Present here is the DOC Alto Adige Terlano,
characterized by a blend of white grapes,
in particular Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and
Pinot Grigio.
• Valle Isarco: adopted home of Riesling and
Sylvaner. Produced here, almost exclusively
white wines.
• Merano: primarily red grapes.
• Val Venosta: thin and sandy soils, which often
translate into very elegant wines.

• Riesling: great acidity with an equally long
lasting quality. In the Alto Adige, it is often
vinified, contrary to that which occurs in
other parts of Europe, with almost no sugar.
• Pinot Grigio: makes up a little more than 10%
of the cultivated surface of the region.
• Sylvaner: grows very well in the Val Isarco.
Completing the list of white varieties are the
Moscato Giallo, Veltliner, and the Müller Thurgau.
Some excellent white wines of the Alto Adige are
often products of a combination of some of the
aforementioned varieties.
This Southern Tyrolean area also offers red grape
production. The most diffuse are the Lagrein, the
Moscato Rosa, and the Schiava. However, more
widespread are some international varieties such
as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and
Zweigelt.
The territory of the Alto Adige is commonly
subdivided into seven production areas, each
with characteristics that render it unique.
Of the cultivation surface of the Alto Adige, 98%
is protected by the DOC Alto Adige.

For those who have never smelled elderflower, this is the liquid answer. If
the nose appears a bit monotonous, the mouth moves in a very different
gustative direction, ranging from white-fleshed fruit to lychee, and ending
with a slightly spicy sensation of Tonka bean.
Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC Turmhof 2015 TIEFENBRUNNER
Collected from two different zones in which the vines assume finer contours
(Niclara) or in the case of Cortaccia, where they are more structured. The
floral component sings of rose, while in the mouth the wine takes on a round
dimension that is never overtly sweet, thanks to impressions of mango and
ripe pineapple.

Sauvignon vinified in steel and aged in part in the same material, as well
as a short time in barrels of acacia. Typical and articulated, but never
excessive, spiced with those notes of citrus and sage that often render
other Sauvignons a bit exaggerated. In the mouth, vibrant acid and a rich
catalogue of balsamic and mentholated sensations. Salted finish.

authentic taste of white peach and evident hints of tropical fruit. Pineapple,

Vertigo-inciting slopes and altitudes of almost 700 meters above sea
level are the growing conditions of the grapevines for a wine that always
maintains an evident territorial character, by way of the cantina, starting with
a vinification realized in barrels of acacia wood. A sour backbone of a fruity
matrix, to which salt, ginger, and white pepper are added.
Riesling Alto Adige DOC 2015 RIELINGERHOF
Product of the lower Isarco Valley. The strength of a vintage such as this is
that some amount, in truth a very little, of the grapes have been attacked
by noble rot. Not a smooth wine, as evidenced in the very citrusy sip that
always displays a dry dimension, with particular thanks to sensations of
aromatic herbs and salt.

To say that a Pinot Nero is fruity reveals many things. In this wine, first on
the nose and then immediately in the taste, one passes with natural ease
from the acidity of pomegranate to that of mixed fruit, all the way to sweet
and bitter orange. The spice of sweet cinnamon adds an overall balance to
the wine.

Matured in different sized oak. The contribution of the wood, even in this
young wine, is not too evident, given that the Linticlarus plays on its best
qualities. Regarding its gustatory assets, sensations of toasted cherry as
well as a rich, spicy catalogue that does not lack a hint of vanilla, nor that
pleasing spiciness, which recalls pink peppercorns.

Almost 80 year-old vines, from the territory of Bolzano. Fermented in
wood and aged in casks for about a year. Delicate aromas of cherry, fresh
and in preserves, as well as those spicy-sweet flavors that become the true
protagonists in the mouth. The sip is smooth from coffee and cacao, but also
spicy from pink peppercorns. Acidic tannins.

Aged in small wood for more than a year. Explosive at the nose on notes of
macerated cherry and spices. In the mouth, an acidic component, thanks to
a note of red fruit that seems more, sour rather than sweet, cherry. On the
finish, a sensation of cloves is dominated by tannins of a flavorful matrix.

This label takes its name from the stone on which the almost 100 years-old
plants grow and from which this wine is derived. Abundant dark fruit. Rich
mouth, succulent, but also ample. The descriptors that primarily occur are
those of blackberry, both fresh and preserved, macerated cherry, cacao,
and Sichuan pepper. Flavorful tannins.

Lagrein grown in the area of Gries, one of the most zones most suited to this
variety. Fruity aromas, both fresh and in preserves, ever so slightly hidden
by a subtle spicy patina, which in the mouth becomes less nuanced, but
together with the alcohol is more present in each phase of the tasting.

MANINCOR
Pinot Bianco, in prevalence, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon. The spontaneous
vinification allows the wine, an elegant sweet and spicy profile of Tonka
beans and cinnamon, initially observed in its aromas. The mouth is instead,
dedicated to white fruit, and rendered more balsamic thanks to notes of
anise and thyme, which is even piquant, from a hint of ginger.

Posizione e terreno
Due terzi dell’uva provengono dalla tenuta Lieben Aich
a Terlano e l’altro terzo dai vigneti siti nei pressi di
Castel Campan. Lieben Aich è un vigneto dal microclima caldo, esposto a sud-ovest, a 300 m slm e con
terreno sabbioso, porfirico di origine vulcanica.
Campan invece ha un microclima fresco, esposizione
est e si trova a più di 500 m slm, il terreno è argilloso
calcareo da depositi morenici.
Annata
Il 2015 è stato fantastico. Un anno di sole e luce
come nella nostra regione ne vediamo al massimo
solo due in un decennio. Annate così ci regalano frutti
che hanno raggiunto una maturazione straordinaria e
vini che irradiano un'energia particolare. Ma non sono
mancate le sfide. In primo luogo la calura e la siccità
in estate e poi una fase di piogge durante la vendemmia. Siamo riusciti a superare con successo tutte
le difficoltà grazie ai nostri preparati biodinamici e a
tantissimo lavoro manuale. Abbiamo installato in tutti i
vigneti impianti di irrigazione a goccia. Per molti anni
non ne abbiamo avuto bisogno eppure, messo in
funzione con prudenza in casi estremi, diventa un vero
fattore di qualità. Nel luglio 2015 questa possibilità di

I grappoli diraspati sono rimasti a macerare per sei
ore nella pressa onde attingere aroma e struttura
dalle bucce. La fermentazione è avvenuta in botti di
legno, spontanea senza aggiunta di lieviti. Durante i
nove mesi dell'affinamento a contatto con i lieviti si
sono esaltati aroma e gusto.

Descrizione e abbinamenti
Colore giallo intenso con riflessi verdognoli. Profumo

Avvolgente, elegante, un vino di carattere dalla lunga
persistenza.
Darà il meglio di sé dall’estate 2016 a fine 2022.
Temperatura di servizio: 10 – 12 °C
Si abbina bene ad antipasti, piatti di pesce e
vegetariani, carni bianche.
