ENCOUNTER Encounter is a wonderful ministry that has helped people deal with issues as wide ranging as addiction to broken hearts. It has worked with people who feel disenfranchised and those who run companies. Pain has no concern about who you are. Encounter has brought comfort and the Lord to all of those. Come see what it is all about. This Sunday, our own Steve Carlson will be talking about Keeping a solid footing with the Lord. Sounds like something we could all use. G E T T I N G T O K N OW … .. 1. How long have you lived in Florida? 2 years 3. What made you come to First Christian Church? David Miller - When we first visited FCC, we filled out a we care card and requested a home visit. He came and spent three hours with us going over the DOC doctrine, & answering any questions we had. His outgoing personality drew us to him & the church, We also were very fond of Charles Rowley, all of the praise and worship team and Marcus Cervinka. Mike, Keith & I prayed about it, & the Lord led us to join FCC. 4. What is your favorite thing about our church? The people--we LOVE the people--& the fact that FCC was a "Church of Second Chances". 5. What do you want your legacy to be? That She loved the Lord, That she was a good wife, A good mother, & a faithful civil servant for 40 years. 6. If you could change one thing about our church what would it be? That everyone's hurts be healed & all of us could move forward in total harmony. Also, that most everyone that left FCC return. 7. DID YOU EVER DO ANYTHING DANGEROUS? Yes, when I was a teenager my dad bought me a new RED BUICK CONVERTIBLE, & once I got up to 100 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY!! I had a bunch of girlfriends in the car challenging me to do it. How stupid I was!! Praise God I didn't have an accident or get a speeding ticket!! 8. WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU? 1. Getting saved & baptized @ age 9 2. Meeting Mike Guercio in 1963 9. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PASSTIME?? Mike & I BOTH love praying for people & the special time we spend with our prayer warriors from Mississippi, who are actually an extension of FCC. Also: As Bad is I hate to admit it, I LOVE TV!! I was ill & in bed quite a bit in 2013, & TV was my only source of entertainment. I became addicted to Dr. Phil!! 10. WHAT IS THE BEST PLACE YOU EVER VISITED? Hawaii SUSAN GUERCIO 2. What brought you to Florida? We vacationed here with Keith, our youngest son, at least three times, and we loved it !! Keith has ALWAYS wanted to live in Florida, & since he volunteered to take care of us when/if we can't take care of ourselves, the three of us decided to make the move. It was one of the best decisions we ever made!! SUSAN GUERCIO 11. DO YOU HAVE CHILDREN? IF SO, TELL US ABOUT THEM: We have two sons, John, 48, who is a behavior analyst.
