Address will be sent upon sign-up No charge. Donations accepted for the Gaia Foundation of Malta Space limited. RSVP to Lisafwade@gmail.com to reserve seat. Join us for a delightful afternoon as we gather to experience food and poetry of Malta, a Southern European island country just south of Sicily. Marlene Saliba who was born in Malta and lives there, will read from her published collections of poetry. To further enhance the senses, you will have the opportunity to sample Maltese delicasies based on traditional recipes passed down from Marlene's family. It is a true honor to have Marlene at Lisa's Hearth on her first visit to the United States. Joining Marlene is special guest, Jennifer Berezan a prolific singer/songwriter who has lead trips to Malta for many years. In 2000, Jennifer recorded the album Returning in a 6,000 year old oracular underground sound chamber in the world’s oldest temple located in Malta. There is no charge for this afternoon event, but donations are welcomed to support The Gaia Foundation of Malta. This non-profit organization provides education on ecology, holistic health and living, social justice, protecting the natural environment, and organic gardening. This education is crucially needed as the last 50 years in Malta have seen a great devastation of the natural environment because of the increase of the local population, the tourism industry, and the growth and insensitivity of the building construction industry. www.projectgaia.org Visit LisasHearth.com for bios and more information.
