Mission: Friendly House creates a thriving community by connecting people of all ages and backgrounds
through quality educational, recreational, and other life-sustaining services.
Vision: Friendly House is a model for quality
programs and services that sustain and enrich lives
in the Portland Metropolitan community.

Our 85th year was one for the books!
• 97% of older adults served through case management were able to coninue living in their own homes
and did not need to move into a higher level of care.
• We supported 778 older adults with activities such as tax preparation, legal advice, housing
applications, and Medicare counseling.
• SAGE Metro Portland, our program for LGBT older adults, utilized volunteers to provide 2,026 hours of
activities such as; educating the public about the special challenges this population faces, advocating
for supporting housing, and organizing special events.
• 245 kids participated in our Children’s Programs. Families paid on a sliding scale, but 72 kids from very
low-income and homeless families came for free.
• There were 59,463 visits to Commuity Recreation & Education by people ages 0 to 99. Activities
included basketball, dodgeball, senior water colors, evidence-based fitness for older adults, lifelong
learning, and community building gathering and events.
• Friendly House hosted over 400 volunteers who contributed 5,776 hours.
