If you are interested in becoming an apprentice, there are a number of ways you can find out more information: 01925 494392 theworkshop@warrington.ac.uk www.warrington.ac.uk/appvacancies 1 Apply for one of our current vacancies advertised on the ‘Find an apprenticeship’ website: www.warrington.ac.uk/appvacancies 2 You will be invited for an interview where we’ll discuss the apprenticeship, your career plans and assess your suitability for the programme. You will need to bring along a copy of your CV. 3 You may be invited in for a workshop if your CV needs improving or to help you prepare for the world of work. 4 Once you have received an offer from the College, we’ll support you in finding a suitable work placement. 5 You usually have a trial period and if that is successful, one of our Assessors will arrange to meet you to check that you have settled in so that we can start your apprenticeship. Success stories GET IN Nicole Beswick Social Media Apprentice FAR Progress onto an Apprenticeship Nicole Beswick, landed her dream design job when she was asked by Roy Stride lead singer of Scouting for Girls to produce the cover for their new album, Still Thinking About You. Elliot Humphreys Carpentry & Joinery Apprentice Elliot studied Carpentry & Joinery, Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2. He won second place at the SkillBuild Competition (North West Region) in 2015 in the senior category, making him one of the youngest entrants. Apprenticeships are a great way to kick start your career whist studying at the same time. You will gain qualifications as well as vital work experience and a salary, giving you a head start in your chosen career. During your time as an apprentice you will usually undertake training in the workplace setting for four days per week and be paid to study at college to gain your qualification for up to one day per week. Why should I choose an Apprentic eshi What p? A real job Work in a job placement for at least 30 hours per week and get yourself on the career ladder. You will also benefit from support from Warrington Collegiate in your first job. One of our assessors will mentor you, visiting your workplace each month to discuss your progress and achievement. A real qualification Employers feel that qualified apprentices are 15% more employable than those with other qualifications. A real future You will gain nationally recognised qualifications that will be welcomed by employers.
