Word Of Faith Times - page 3 D OUBLE A V ALS fter making history as the first twin double valedictorians of Spelman College in May 2013, Kirstie and Kristie Bronner have recently finished their book, Double Vals: The Keys to Success in College and Life Beyond. Word Of Faith Family Worship Cathedral - page 4 L ike many college students, they experienced stress, discouragement, and the overwhelming longing to fast-forward to the moment they would dance across the platform with their diplomas in-hand! They were not in love with school, neither were they Einsteins. Double Vals exposes the common mistakes of college students and breaks down in detail the “how to” of maintaining a perfect GPA, while living a balanced life. Get ready to abandon mediocrity and be empowered for academic superiority and life excellence! Their secret was not found in genius, but rather in strategy and sweat. This means that their story of academic preeminence and life success can become yours! An irreplaceable component of the Bronner twins’ strategy was the “super” on top of their “natural” (the “supernatural”) that made it all possible…the God factor! Their motto throughout college was, “Work like it’s all up to you, but pray like it’s all up to God!” They were diligent, and they included God in each step of their preparation and each aspect of their lives. Without the Divine, this extraordinary story would only be ordinary. Prepare to discover how to engage divine strategy in your life! Word Of Faith Times - page 5 COVENANT KEEPERS qualification process. The Covenant Keepers key scripture is Ecclesiastes 4:12b where it says “… a threefold cord is not easily broken.” The first two cords represent the husband and the wife. The third strand represents the presence, power, and person of God in the marriage. The motto that Covenant Keepers has adopted is JOIN THE REVOLUTION! The revolution that we are talking about is to recapture the principles of God and restore proper godly order to the covenant of marriage the way God intended it to be. We intend to not only help church families and marriages, but to influence the non-church culture for marriage the way God intended. By Dr. Charles Houston A fter 2 years of prayer, development and guidance from our Bishop, Dr. Dale C. Bronner, a new ministry program has been birthed at Word of Faith. On Sunday, March 9, 2014, WOF launched the Covenant Keepers Marriage Mentoring Program. The Open House was held at the Riverside EpiCenter (www.riversideepicenter.com). Since the first Open House event went so well and numerous people were unable to attend, we had a second Open House on Sunday, March 30th. Covenant Keepers (CK) is a new branch of our Marriage Ministry. It is not a replacement of our Marriage Ministry, but customized to the needs of WOF as a complement to the Marriage Ministry and support to the WOF Counseling Network. The objective of Covenant Keepers is to encourage, equip and empower married couples specifically through the vehicle of couple mentorship. CK is a program that utilizes the Marriage Mentoring Initiative of Drs. Les & Leslie Parrott. The Parrots are Christian professors and counselors and have been mentoring married couples for over 25 years. Their initiative is designed to train and certify potential marriage mentors and to provide mentorship to mentorees after successfully going through a Word Of Faith Family Worship Cathedral - page 6 We feel that the time is now to release this ministry. We must enter into this fight for God-centered families and restored Christian marriages. The common culture of today has greatly wounded the example that God set forth in His word and we who know enough, pray enough and experienced enough have to stand up and be counted. According to Matthew 9:37, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few”. It is time to go ye into the world and make disciples (Matthew 28:19). CK will do this by mentoring one married couple at a time. If you would like to receive more information about Covenant Keepers, please contact Rev. Charles Houston at 770.874.8400, email wofcovenantkeepers@gmail.com or “Like” us on Facebook and leave comments or questions at https://www.facebook.com/wofcovenantkeepers . inistry W e would like to introduce you to the Word of Faith Resource Ministry. We are a team of faithful and dedicated workers who have devoted ourselves to bringing the Word of God to the WOF family. The team consists of workers from the Atlanta Metro Area who bring their individual talents to serve the Resource Ministry with the gifts that God has given them. We all know the importance of the written word of God and how it can inspire our souls when we search for God as we would search for hidden treasure. Bishop Dale C. Bronner enjoys delivering the word of God, searching, studying and teaching the scriptures to the WOF family to be doers of the word (not hearers only). The Resource Ministry team considers it a great honor to deliver CDs and DVDs to the WOF family. Please take the time to stop by and pickup a copy of any message preached by Bishop Bronner. We look forward to seeing you soon at one of the three convenient Resource Stations where it would be our great pleasure to serve you! INSIDE THE GATES... esource Word Of Faith Times - page 7 As told by Sharon Miller Word Of Faith Family Worship Cathedral - page 8 S heri Render and I were approached by some former choir members from the East Point location to put together a choir reunion in early 2012. We thought that would be a great idea, but we remembered Dr. Nina would be celebrating her 50th birthday two years later so, why not do it then! It first started out with just getting the old choir members together to sing on a Sunday and have lunch afterwards. But, the more we thought about it, the more it just didn’t seem right to make it only a quick get together. We started thinking of the Worship & Arts Department as a whole and realized that this would take an entire service! Plus it should be a secret. So we put our plan down in the form of a program and presented it to Bishop in October, 2013. He loved it!! He only added a couple of items, among them, getting Dr. Judith McAllister as the special musical Dr. Nina Bronner & guest and then, he Sheri Render agreed to give us a Thursday night School of the Word Service. Wow! We were so honored Bishop allowed us to use an entire Thursday service. Quickly, we were off to make the surprise birthday celebration happen. We got together with the Worship & Arts Department’s ministry leaders in November and sent out letters to the Sanctuary Choir members in December via Facebook. We enlisted the help of the First Ladies from the Love Center and Light of Joy. First Lady Lisa Garmon and First Lady Miriam Salters were such a blessing to allow us to have the Sanctuary Choir and Praise Team rehearsals at their churches. Our first rehearsal was Monday, January 20th at the Love Center and it was so much fun! It was just like the old days. Bros. Anton Snyder and Shep Eppinger lent their talents and time to create the medley of songs. On February 17th, we had the first rehearsal with the current Cathedral Choir. Pastor Derrik Cooper blessed us with his leadership in handling the songs from this period of time. Mother Cobb assembled some of the original Voices of Light members, now all grown up. It was just wonderful! We wanted to show the progression of our start as Word of Faith Family Worship Center to Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral. We Dr. Nina Bronner & gathered pictures to Sharon Miller make video montages and interviewed the original Praise Team members (when Bishop was the pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church). Our goal was to put together a program that would demonstrate the legacy Dr. Nina has created in the Worship & Arts Department over the past 20+ years. It was quite the night to remember. We are just so glad the whole thing was a complete surprise to Dr. Nina. Working with so many moving parts to keep a secret for so long was only by the grace of God. For God to fulfill His promise-Whew! Part 2 By Min. Carol Francis Understanding Time Recognize Spiritual Timing Since Jesus went through everything you’re going through and more, learn to think like Him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way. Then you’ll be able to live out your days free to pursue what God wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want. 1 Peter 4:1-2 (Message) Robert Liardon says it this way, “God is not subject to the limitations imposed on us by linear time. But God uses times as the central focal point from which our lives operate. Our lives move forward with God but we are hindered in our movement without Him. It depends on our understanding and cooperation with the timing of God.” You are not arriving at the starting point behind time on God’s clock. As you believe what God has spoken to you, you now have entered the GOD ZONE! Time Zones Time Zone: a geographic region within which the same standard time is used. Earthly time zone: synonymous with hurry, quick, instant. People become so consumed by time that it makes them compromise their values! They live as if it is natural to cut corners and play this perpetual game of “beat the clock.” Why Walk with God in His Zone? Revelation requires action. Now you know you are in His timing, you must get moving. Or put another way, once it (revelation) moves you, then you move it! “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” (Deuteronomy 8:3) Once you know what and whose time it is - Now move it! Do Something each day that connects with your leading from God. If doubt and unbelief tries to get in your ear— just hang up. Better yet, don’t accept the call! Don’t compare yourself (or your dream) to others. Rather, encourage yourself and be reminded of God’s faithfulness. Be free! Walk in peace trusting God’s promise to be manifested within His time zone. (Jeremiah 1:12) God changes the times and seasons (Daniel 2:21). He has already ordered the season for the fulfillment of your promise. Blessed are you if you will believe. (Luke 1:45) Bibliography Redeeming the Time, Chuck H. Pierce Spiritual Timing, Roberts Liardon God’s schedule is the only one that is important. Manipulation will not bring His manifestation. Woolman changed the name to “Delta Air Service” for the Mississippi River Delta region it served. The company moved to Atlanta in 1930 and the rest is history! Transform Your Garden The satisfaction you’ll get from this easy project will have you searching for more pots and containers. Fill your container with potting soil, gently compacting it as you go. Position your plants in a pleasing way. Place narrow and upright plants in Choose a container; glazed ceramic the center of the container, moundor terracotta pots work well. Make ing and spreading plants next to sure it’s large enough to hold all the them and trailing plants around the herbs you’ll want to include and has edges. a hole in the bottom for drainage. Choose your herbs. Male sure they’re compatible size-wise, some herbs get surprisingly large, such as dill and fennel. Herbs are generally compatible as to water requirements. Herbs of all kinds look great together because of their varying shades of green, gold, gray and even purple and unique textures. Dig a hole for each plant, placing them in it. The soil level and the tops of the root balls should be about 1-inch below the top of the container rim. Firmly press the soil around the plant roots. Scatter 100% organic E.B. Word Of Faith Times - page 13 signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years. In lupus, something goes wrong with your immune system, which is the part of the body that fights off viruses, bacteria and germs ("foreign invaders," like the flu). Normally our immune system produces proteins called antibodies that protect the body from these invaders. Autoimmune means your immune system cannot tell the difference between these foreign invaders and your body’s healthy tissues ("auto" means "self") and creates autoantibodies that attack and destroy healthy tissue. These autoantibodies cause inflammation, pain and damage in various parts of the body. What is lupus? Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the Lupus is also a disease of flares (the symptoms worsen and you feel ill) and remissions (the symptoms improve and you feel better). Lupus Facts: 1 Lupus is not contagious. You cannot "catch" lupus from someone or "give" lupus to someone. 2 Lupus is not like or related to cancer. Cancer is a condition of malignant, abnormal tissues that grow rapidly and spread into surrounding tissues. Lupus is an autoimmune disease, as described above. 3 Lupus is not like or related to HIV (Human Immune Deficiency Virus) or AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). In HIV or AIDS the immune system is underactive; in lupus, the immune system is overactive. 4 Lupus can range from mild to life-threatening and should always be treated by a doctor. With good medical care, most people with lupus can lead a full life. 5 Our research estimates that at least 1.5 million Americans have lupus. The actual number may be higher; however, there have been no large-scale studies to show the actual number of people in the U.S. living with lupus. 6 More than 16,000 new cases of lupus are reported annually across the country. Word Of Faith Family Worship Cathedral - page 14 7 It is believed that 5 million people throughout the world have a form of lupus. 8 Lupus strikes mostly women of childbearing age (15-44). However, men, children and teenagers develop lupus, too. 9 Women of color are two to three times more likely to develop lupus than Caucasians. People of all races and ethnic groups can develop lupus.
