To improve the functionality of your existing center pivot, Lindsay has developed a line of quality components to fit non-Zimmatic systems in order to maximize value and optimize the performance of center pivots already in operation. The attached Product Insight allows you to determine which options will best fit your nonZimmatic machine in order to maintain and improve its performance and reliability. 1 Conversion Upgrades for Competitive Brand Systems Existing Machine Conversion Upgrades Mechanized irrigation operates in some of the harshest environments with the expectation of continuous reliability. From high temperatures in desert conditions with extreme sunlight to frigid environments with ice and snow, irrigation systems endure the toughest working environments. This constant change and rugged wear will eventually deteriorate components and an upgrade to those system will be required. Lindsay has released a series of upgrades to address competitive systems to get these systems to the same reliability as a new Zimmatic system. Lindsay offers upgrades for the precision alignment to the rugged drive train and even the latest in irrigation system controls. Included in this package are easy to use ready to install kits containing all the necessary components needed to upgrade these older unreliable systems. Lindsay also offers hardware add on equipment to add spans, pivot points, and corners to existing irrigation systems in the field. Alignment Upgrades A system’s alignment is crucial to accurate actuation of pivot functions like end guns and multi operations as well as structural integrity on the pivot point and joints. Zimmatic has proven its alignment is the industry best in both long system and standard system alignment. Lindsay uses a weather tight double lip tower box that seals all the system controls. Highly sensitive long arm switches and corrosion resistant alignment components maintain accuracy for many years. You can use GrowSMART controllers in any field condition, whether you have uneven terrain, varying soil types or are growing multiple crops. From a low cost encoder upgrade for existing major brand electrical irrigation systems to a complete position system for non-electrical systems. Recently Lindsay released an encoder option that allows for a retrofit to a Reinke or Valley collector ring. This encoder fits on top of the system’s collector ring to determine position of the center pivot. This is a low cost upgrade that allows you to use the latest in technology while saving on hardware. To accommodate non-electric systems Lindsay has released a hydraulic system upgrade that allows systems to capture and utilize precision encoders to perform multifunction tasks. This position upgrade adds a collector ring for power and an encoder to the center point. GPS Precision Conversion Use the power of global positioning to enhance any pivot system, no matter what the brand. The programmable controller knows the exact field position of the pivot allowing for precise control of water and fertilizer application through end-guns or an entire bank of sprinklers maintaining maximum control over all areas of your field. The GPS Controller easily integrates with FieldBOSS and FieldVISION controllers and Zimmatic FieldPLUS articulated pivots. 3 3 Conversion Upgrades for Competitive Brand Systems Conversion Drive Train Zimmatic machines incorporate the strongest, most reliable drive-train in the industry. The horizontal centerdrive design was pioneered by Zimmatic engineers and has been further improved upon to provide the highest standard horsepower and torque available in the market today. The powerful centerdrive is connected to the all new AT gearbox. Designed to Zimmatic’s exact specifications, the AT gearbox incorporates the latest in gearbox technology to withstand temperature and pressure using time tested, high-strength internal components for trouble free operation. The combination of the Zimmatic centerdrive and the AT gearbox allow your machines to power through the toughest terrain, year after year. Centerdrive Aggressive environments demand rugged solutions and the Lindsay centerdrive utilizes key features to accomplish this. With a triple reduction spur gear design that results in less heat loss, lower friction and overall wear the centerdrive provides power and energy savings. Advanced Technology Gearbox The all new AT gearbox incorporates proven components with cutting edge design. Using the industry’s largest expansion chamber to reduce internal pressure allows the seals in the AT gearbox, to keep worm and bull gears lubricated so performance is at its best even in the harshest conditions. The strength can be seen in the larger heat treated worm gear teeth for smooth starting and stopping of the system. Added Zimmatic Structure Add the toughest structure to your Valley, Reinke or Lockwood. Lindsay offers add on joints to attach a Zimmatic span to an existing span or pivot point. Lindsay also has adapter joints to replace narrower pivot points with the sturdy Zimmatic wide base heavy duty pivot point offering renewed life and additional strength where it counts, at the pivot. Zimmatic spans offer additional strength with a 15% thicker pipeline and wider tower structure. This allows for longer span life and a more even load distribution into the pipeline. This added strength and durability leads to longer lasting spans in challenging terrain. 4 Conversion Upgrades for Competitive Brand Systems Zimmatic Pivot Point Replacing the pivot point is a good option when additional strength is needed or the current pivot point has worn out. A Zimmatic pivot point offers the widest base in the industry for more stability and strength. With an easy to remove pivot riser gasket maintenance is simple. Zimmatic also prides itself on an industry exclusive external collector ring which eliminates flow restriction from the riser pipe. MAXfield II Corner The MAXfield II has proven to be the industry leader in reliability and water application uniformity. By utilizing a solid, hose-less joint, digital guidance, durable steering and instant motion control technology this corner out paces the competition. With immediate communication between the last tower and the corner arm, the corner reacts on the go to changing field conditions. In addition, the extension and retraction of the corner allows the machine to cross the last wheel track adding more acres under irrigation. Now existing Valley machine owners can benefit from the advantages of the MAXfield II corner. Alignment Conversion (01-6806-0) Includes mounting hardware, and alignment rod to convert any system to Zimmatic alignment controls. These controls are perpendicular to the pipe providing a more precise and repeatable alignment response than a parallel configuration like the original hardware uses. Control Panel Mounting Hardware (01-6943-0) Enables a GrowSmart control panel to be mounted onto an existing Valley pivot point. NOTE: The control panel will have to be ordered separately. If a computer panel is selected a position option (encoder or GPS) must also be ordered. Alignment Conversion (01-6807-0) A retro fit alignment kit fits directly onto existing T&L structures. This kit includes mounting hardware and alignment components to convert a T&L system to Zimmatic alignment controls after an electric conversion is complete. The Zimmatic alignment offers precision movement of the T&L so the system maintains the same straight position around the field. 10 Conversion Upgrades for Competitive Brand Systems T&L Control Panel Mounting Hardware (Electric Conversion) Panel Mount Kit (01-6944-0) The conversion kit allows for a GrowSmart panel to mount onto a T&L pivot point with all the required mounting hardware. GrowSmart Panel If a computer panel is selected, the panel must be ordered separately with either an encoder or GPS. Collector Rings To provide power for the system, Collector rings must also be installed. There are 3 options for the T&L system. 1. T&L pivot that wrap hose around the elbow (01-7030-0): This kit will include the new collector ring, encoder, conduit and packing glands for the mounting of the encoder. Allows a collector ring to be installed on a T&L pivot point which currently only has hydraulic hose wrapped around the pivot point during operation. 2. T&L with the swivel kit (01-7031-0): This will have the encoder cable and mounting hardware. Allows collector ring to be installed on a T&L pivot point which currently utilizes a swivel for hydraulic drive. 3. Encoder Upgrade Kit (14-8203-0): (Only for use with FieldVISION or FieldBOSS panels): Provides position information for end gun tables and programming features that are available with FieldVISION or FieldBOSS panels.
