ABOUT THE PARKLANDS OF FLOYDS FORK:
Managed by the nonprofit 21st Century Parks, The Parklands is a donor-supported public park in Louisville,
Kentucky. Stretching 4,000 acres between Shelbyville and Bardstown Roads, The Parklands is one of the largest
and most ambitious metropolitan parks projects in the nation, and will be complete and open to the public by the
spring of 2016. The Parklands provides world-class amenities including miles of hiking, biking, walking, and
paddling trails, as well as a dog park, playgrounds and spraygrounds, and expansive lawns and facilities for
community events. In 2015 The Parklands recorded 1.4 million visits, with only a portion of the park system open
to the public. More than 12,000 Louisvillians participated in outdoor education programming, of whom about
1,000 were scholarship students. Volunteers donated more than 8,000 hours and between construction,
volunteerism, and our annual operations, we planted more than 8,600 trees. By the spring of 2016, The
Parklands will have more than doubled in size in terms of open park acreage, and with that comes a need
for more support.

WHO BENEFITS:
This unique fundraiser benefits The Parklands of Floyds Fork, one of the largest and most ambitious urban
parks in the nation operated by a nonprofit. The Parklands does not receive tax dollars to support annual
operations and therefore relies on the community to help raise more than $2 million annually to provide
world-class park experiences across nearly 4,000 acres. Our 2016 goal is to raise more than $200,000
from the Kick-Off Luncheon, including more than $40,000 in day-of
donations. Your sponsorship, as well as your table attendees’ day-of
donations, help us to reach our goal each year.
