The nation`s foremost expert in college football previews the 2016
The nation’s foremost expert in college football previews the 2016 season, just 30 days after our local teams host their annual spring game, and a short 70 days before college fall practice begins. GAME DAY: Monday, May 16, 2016, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. THE LINE-UP: ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit and local media personality, Terry Meiners, entertain the crowd with a discussion of the 2016 football season. THE VENUE: The Galt House Louisville, 140 N 4th St, Louisville, KY 40202 Complimentary parking available. THE CROWD: 1,000 business professionals, civic leaders, and entrepreneurs from across the Louisville Metro Area, with over 100 companies represented. As a Kick-Off Luncheon sponsor, your company has the opportunity to be a part of an exciting event and align with a transformational project for our community. Each sponsorship level presents a variety of benefits, with significant public exposure for your company and benefits for clients and employees, all while contributing to an important cause for the entire community. GET INVOLVED! Now in its third year, the Kick-Off Luncheon with Kirk Herbstreit is an exciting opportunity to bring together the supporters that help to make the annual operations of The Parklands possible, and introduce the project to new supporters. Funds raised from Kick-Off Luncheon ticket sales and day-of donations, support the annual operations of The Parklands of Floyds Fork, a donorsupported public park that relies on donations, not tax dollars, to operate this free public amenity on an annual basis. ABOUT KIRK HERBSTREIT: Widely recognized as the name and face of college football, Kirk has been with ESPN/ABC since 1995, including more than 20 seasons co-hosting its popular College Gameday studio show and 10 years on ABC’s Saturday Night Prime Time broadcast. Kirk has been nominated 7 times for the Sports Emmy Award as television’s top studio analyst and is a two-time winner of the Award, and was recently nominated for Best Game Analyst. Kirk has called 9 Rose Bowl games and the last 6 National Championship games. ABOUT TERRY MEINERS: A Louisville legend, Terry Meiners has been on air in some form or fashion in Louisville since 1981 - and with WHAS since 1985. He was voted favorite media personality over 20 times - forcing Louisville Magazine to get rid of the category altogether. His deep love of Louisville is undeniable as he’s led countless philanthropic efforts through the years, not least of which is his annual leadership of WHAS’s “Crusade for Children.” A UK grad, Terry enjoys golf, marathons, and is a frequent user of The Parklands. The Parklands is one of the largest and most ambitious metropolitan parks projects in the nation, and will be complete and open to the public by the spring of 2016. 21st Century Parks, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, manages the park through the establishment of an annual fund and endowment. EL DLET MID GILLI L MORE ABOUT THE PARKLANDS & THE KICK-OFF LUNCHEON: Creekside Paddling Access HUMANA GRAND ALLEE LI SH The Parklands provides world-class amenities including miles of hiking, biking, walking, and paddling trails, as well as a dog park, playgrounds and spraygrounds, and expansive lawns and facilities for community events. In 2015 The Parklands recorded nearly 1.4 million visits, with only a portion of the park system open to the public. More than 12,000 Louisvillians participated in outdoor education programming, of whom about 1,000 were scholarship students. Volunteers donated more than 8,000 hours and between construction, volunteerism, and our annual operations, we planted more than 8,600 trees. By the spring of 2016, The Parklands will have more than doubled in size in terms of open park acreage, and with that comes a need for more support.
