Wealth Transfer Wealth transfer from one generation to another has become a highly charged political topic as America's population grows older. Seventy-five percent of the United State's wealth is held by Americans who are 65 or older, and these Americans are constantly seeking ways to bypass estate taxes and probate. Sadly, few have a plan in place to distribute their estates with the least amount of taxes or fees. Millions of senior Americans can seek help in planning their estate process. Living trusts are a very popular vehicle for a seamless estate transfer without the probate process. All assets are re-titled into the ownership of the living trust and upon passing the assets are automatically transferred to the named trustees. The estate process it thereby shortened and the trustees are quickly able to access estate assets. Gifting can also be an excellent way to transfer assets or monies to a loved one and negate the probate process. An individual can gift up to $11,000 per year, per person. A husband and wife with three children can each gift $33,000 to their children each and every year tax free to the gift giver and receiver. Gifts can also be given to grandchildren to fund college tuition and expenses. Gifting reduces the overall estate tax value and it also allows a loved one to say, "Thank You!" For more information on the estate process, living trusts, or gifting, please call Jerry Kemick at (814) 456-6231 ext. 260. Asbury October 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th Credit Scores: Learn the Facts You hear all the time these days about your credit score, but do you really understand what it is? A credit score is a three-digit number that lenders use to objectively measure how likely a borrower is to repay a loan. It is a snapshot of your credit history at a particular moment in time, and most lenders will use a credit score to determine the rate you will receive on a loan.
