AEB Fitment - Standard factor volumes im ag e so ur ce :H o nd a Honda Civic Type R Built at the Honda UK plant in Swindon, the all new fourth generation Civic Type R is developed from the Mk9 Civic. The Type R is available as a 5 door only and in two trim levels, with AEB as standard fitment. Honda Civic Type R Structure image source:Honda The ACE™ body structure provides significantly enhanced occupant protection, aiming at equalising the impact forces between two dissimilar cars by minimising the potential for under-ride or over-ride situations. The front-mounted polygonal main sub-frame is designed to prevent cabin deformation by distributing impact load forces through multiple major load paths, away from the occupant compartment. Honda Civic Type R Technology Technology The underbody is effectively flattened to enable a ground effect, providing negative air pressure to suck the car down onto the road, aiding stability. This is further enhanced by the large rear wing. Airflow is also managed by the front lower bumper and body side sill skirts, reducing air turbulence and reducing drag. Both trim levels are fitted with Honda`s City-Brake Active System (CTBA) as standard. The system uses laser/radar technology to scan the road ahead, automatically applying the brakes if an imminent risk of collision is detected, to avoid or mitigate low speed accidents. This system operates at speeds below 20 mph. If the system identifies a risk of collision, an audible and visual warning will occur, eventually followed by full autonomous braking. The GT version is enhanced with Honda`s Driver Assistance Safety Pack which uses radar sensors, plus forward and rear facing cameras, proving additional safety technologies such as Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Lane Departure Warning and High Beam Support System: Forward Collision Warning Forward Collision Warning detects the risk of collision by recognising the vehicle (car or truck) directly in front, using the multi-purpose camera. The system operates when the car is at a speed of 15 km/h and above. On detecting the risk of collision, it will offer visual and audible warnings. The warning distance can be adjusted to the driver’s preferences and the system can be turned off by the driver at any time. Lane Departure Warning Lane Departure Warning also uses the multi-purpose camera to track lane markings on the road, detecting if the car deviates from its current lane without indicating. Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver with audible and visual warnings. image source:Honda High Beam Support System High Beam Support System works at above 40 km/h to switch the High Beam head lights on or off automatically depending on oncoming vehicles and ambient conditions. This system can be turned off by the driver. Honda Civic Type R Blind Spot Information Blind Spot Information uses radar to automatically detect vehicles in the driver’s blind spot and warn of potential dangers when the vehicle is travelling at speeds above 20 km/h. The system provides a visual warning displayed on the door mirror. Cross Traffic Monitor Honda’s Cross Traffic Monitor system uses rear-side radar sensors to warn the driver of approaching vehicles during reversing manoeuvres. The rear-view camera screen or display uses arrows to show the direction of the travelling vehicle on the i-MID display screen and an audible warning sound. The system detects vehicles travelling up to 25 km/h. image source:Honda Traffic Sign Recognition The multi-purpose camera is used for Traffic Sign Recognition system to detect and read road signs (displaying speed limits and ‘No Passing’ information) whenever the vehicle is moving forward. The system automatically recognises and displays the signs via the i-MID once the vehicle has passed the sign. Honda Civic Type R Trim levels : Type R, Type R GT Type R features a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Vehicle Stability Assist, (VSA) which is an ESC system, Honda Connect infotainment system, 7 inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth, rear parking camera, the City-Brake Active System (CTBA), 19 inch alloys and a rear tailgate spoiler.
