We will be travelling in vans that will be leaving the school after devotions on Monday and returning in time to make the buses on Tuesday. Students will be participating in a variety of activities to promote group work, team building, courage and connecting with other students in their class. Group activities include High Ropes, Canoeing, Milk Crate Madness and Jacob’s Ladder. We will return to QCHS Tuesday, September 27 in time for the busses to take the students home. A general schedule has been attached for your information. Staff members on the trip are Mrs. Serviss and Mr. Lammers. The majority of our instruction and meals are provided by the Camp Medeba staff. QCHS staff and four senior QCHS students will also lead students in group building activities and devotions. This trip is extremely valuable for building class community. We strongly encourage everyone to participate as it is a great time for the Grade Nines to get to know the students from the other schools. There are no classes at school for Grade Nine students on Monday September 26 or Tuesday September 27. The total cost is $100 per student. This includes the cost of the camp accommodations, 3 meals, and a portion of the transportation fee. To make things easier financially, we will accept installments of $35 (last installment $30) over 3 months. If anyone is thinking of not going due to the cost, please contact Mr. Lammers. Permission forms and payment are due by Wednesday, September 21, 2016. If you choose to pay in installments, please include a cheque for $35 as well as two post-dated cheques for October and November. Pleas do not hesitate to call or email Mr. Lammers, elammers@qchs.ca (613)968-7870 x222 if you have any questions. Looking forward to a great adventure, Mr. Eric Lammers My student, __________________________________________, is able to join us on this trip to Camp Medeba ______________________________________________ Parent’s Signature Please indicate if there are any special food requirements or allergies. We would like this to be about building community and therefore suggest that students leave electronic devices at home. There is some room on the bus, but not lots, so try to fit everything into a small duffle bag or a backpack. Make sure your sleeping bag is clearly marked and pillow is identifiable. You need to have a lunch for Monday, please bring it in something which can be thrown away after lunch. Please let us know about any dietary considerations or allergies your child has.
