Sakal International Learning Centre (SILC) is the education vertical of the 8-decade old, trusted Sakal Media Group.
Launched with the objective of building leaders for transformational change, SILC's focus is on providing a

The students were given an opportunity to interact with various experts from agriculture industries & understand new
trends, better practices and futuristic technological applications. This exposure enabled the students to sharpen their
managerial skills.
SMART VILLAGE PROJECT
An ambitious Project Undertaken by Sakal to create smart villages in various districts of maharashtra, where emphasis
was given to increase the agriculture output from the farms by adopting the latest technologies and practices
under the guidance of Global Agriculture experts. The students were given exposure to these leading practices and also
had to survey the locals to understand the issues currently faced by them. This project provided the Students of SILC an
opportunity to understand the gaps in current infrastructure and how to bridge the gap by adopting the latest practices in
Agriculture.

AGROSMART
The objective of the workshop was to give participants information on latest developments in the area of their
interest and connect them to the community of all participants who have been associated with SILC. It was aimed
at creating an ongoing platform of learning for them through various forthcoming initiatives at SILC. All the
participants who were trained at SILC that includes progressive farmers and professionals, entrepreneurs and
executives/ managers from agro-based industries took part in the event. The attendees included all trainer
faculties, professionals, bureaucrats, bank officials and industrialists who have imparted training at SILC.
RURAL IMMERSION PROGRAMME - Field Research Project (FRP)
Rural Immersion Programme is a unique initiative that was instituted with an objective to sensitize the budding
managers and entrepreneurs of this Institute towards the various schemes undertaken by the government in villages
and to study and analyze their execution and effectiveness. Spread over a week, the programme's main objective was
provide insights into the various dimensions of district level administration, focusing primarily on the policy
administration and the execution gaps, while dispelling several stereotypes associated with the rural population at
large.

The knowledge that these esteemed Global Experts have shared with our students, on topics like Drip
Irrigation and Shadenet-Polyhouse/Greenhouse Technology will surely enable the students to seek a brighter

FIELD VISITS
Field visit to various renowned industries in agri business has provided the students exposure to modern practices
adopted in agriculture sector and also provided them an insights into functioning of large scale agriculture units.
EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Employability skills are those skills necessary for getting, keeping and being successful in a job. Employability skills
are vital to secure that dream job.
SILC imparts 80 man hours of training to the students so that they become placement ready. Students are trained on

Georjic was a presentation competition for students where a jury of industry leaders were invited to judge the

Eligibility Criteria :
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Agriculture Sciences or in Agriculture related disciplines, of any of the Universities incorporated
by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University
under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
The candidates who do not have formal education in Agriculture or Agriculture related disciplines but have at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
in any other discipline from a University or Institution and a strong interest in Agriculture, Agro/Food Processing, Rural and Allied Sectors are eligible to apply.
