This exposure enabled the students to sharpen their managerial skills. SMART VILLAGE PROJECT An ambitious Project Undertaken by Sakal to create smart villages in various districts of maharashtra, where emphasis was given to increase the agriculture output from the farms by adopting the latest technologies and practices under the guidance of Global Agriculture experts. The students were given exposure to these leading practices and also had to survey the locals to understand the issues currently faced by them. This project provided the Students of SILC an opportunity to understand the gaps in current infrastructure and how to bridge the gap by adopting the latest practices in Agriculture. It was aimed at creating an ongoing platform of learning for them through various forthcoming initiatives at SILC. All the participants who were trained at SILC that includes progressive farmers and professionals, entrepreneurs and executives/ managers from agro-based industries took part in the event. The attendees included all trainer faculties, professionals, bureaucrats, bank officials and industrialists who have imparted training at SILC. RURAL IMMERSION PROGRAMME - Field Research Project (FRP) Rural Immersion Programme is a unique initiative that was instituted with an objective to sensitize the budding managers and entrepreneurs of this Institute towards the various schemes undertaken by the government in villages and to study and analyze their execution and effectiveness. Spread over a week, the programme's main objective was provide insights into the various dimensions of district level administration, focusing primarily on the policy administration and the execution gaps, while dispelling several stereotypes associated with the rural population at large. The candidates who do not have formal education in Agriculture or Agriculture related disciplines but have at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in any other discipline from a University or Institution and a strong interest in Agriculture, Agro/Food Processing, Rural and Allied Sectors are eligible to apply.
