THE PATRIOT IPMS Patriot Chapter Newsletter Pip Moss, Editor January 2014 Meeting Info Billerica, MA www.ipmspatriot.org The next Patriot Chapter meeting will take place on Friday, January 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Parish Unitarian Church in Billerica, MA. The church is located on Concord Road, just as it meets Route 3A (Boston Road) at the Billerica Town Common. The January meeting will be a build session with a business meeting, Show-and-Tell, and a raffle. We had a very successful party on December 6: an abundance of delicious food—a BIG thank-you to Alan Beeber for doing such a great job organizing it—lots of models for Show-and-Tell, a huge number of kits distributed from Richard Rycroft’s estate, an enjoyable (and unpredictable) Yankee Swap, and above all, an evening of good company and good cheer. We hope all our readership has had a joyful holiday season, and we send our best wishes for a happy, productive New Year. Chapter President Dave Schmidt called a brief business meeting at 7:45. He began with a suggestion that we extend an honorary membership to Paul Scopetski in recognition of his support of the club through the years. This was approved unanimously. Dave also suggested that we begin discussion in January of our next group trip. That concluded the business portion of the meeting, and we transitioned to Show-and-Tell. There were no less than 24 models on display, most of them connected with the 2013 Group Build theme: Evolution. Following Show-and-Tell, the club held the distribution of the remaining models from Rich Rycroft’s estate. After the model distribution some members took part in a Yankee Swap, and the meeting then broke up for the night. —Rick Lippincott, Secretary Show and Tell Matt Fleury.............................................1/35 BMW R75 (Tamiya) Mike Hirsch................ 1/48 Supermarine Spiteful 14 (Trumpeter) 1/48 Supermarine Attacker (Classic Airframes) Bill Michaels........................................ 1/72 Fokker Dr. I (Eduard) 1/72 Fokker D.
