Lineman’s Prayer
God said: “Let there be light”
He then created Lineman to deliver it right
Let us pray
Please Lord watch over these men of might
As they toil to give us light
They are doing a job
Only brave men can do
Each one is a brother
They are the select and they are the few
They lean out hard against the wind
And endure the cold
And it’s only age
That makes them feel old
They work long, hard and fast
And they work voltages that fear no man
So Lord we ask,
Don’t let their next job be the last
Please show them the light
By guiding their hand right
Mighty towers they work, lofty poles they climb
Leaving all worries on the ground
When the weather’s bad
And their families are alone
We offer this prayer
For a safe journey home.
