Cover Photo: Bill Slone 3 4 July 2012 The Friction Circle by John Brandt, President It has been quite a run the last few weeks with DE, Autocross, and social events. Our “MORPCAPLATZ” club tent at the Grand-Am was well received and all who came were impressed by how much access we get at the races. We were treated to garage tours from both the Rum-Bum team who switched to Porsche from BMW this year, and the Brumos operation whose drivers Andrew Davis and Leh Keen treated our group like old friends. Many of our troops got to go for rides in the BMW performance school cars for a drifting exhibition lap- What a wild ride! Every turn the car is completely sideways! I had doubts they would stay on the pavement but all did! One thing new that came up at the board meeting is the announcement of the Rahal car show at Easton on wed Aug 1st which is the week of the big ALMS and Indy doubleheader at Mid-Ohio... This show is for the benefit of the Buckeye Ranch which is a local organization that serves troubled youths. The show is going to be really interesting- Expect to see only the most highly significant and collectible racing and sports cars. Our guests, Roy Rushing, gave us a glimpse of a few of the cars in the show, and let’s just say it was remarkable how many cars in the semi-local area have Le Mans history. This event as mentioned is the Wednesday of the Race so the drivers can attend. A second MORPCAPLATZ is likely in store at the track since Porsche Cars NA seems not to be inclined to host PORSCHEPLATZ. I think we can handle it just fine on our own though! Nelson Ledges was exciting, too (and for a few of us, too exciting). We had three perfect days of track driving and socializing. Porsche of Beachwood provided a fantastic catered meal for all the participants. The weekend turnout was the best-ever, and it was great to see so many under a big tent at the track. Everybody got home safely from Nelson, but one of our members brought home 98% of a foul-mouthed parrot. Between all of the fun this spring and summer, I’ve managed to squeeze in some extra fun at the Kart racing track down in Circleville with my son, Willy. We go there on non racing days for fun and seat time. On our third trip or so, he talked me into renting a kart so that we could run together. I figured it would be educational for him as a “lead-follow” exercise....Well, guess who got the education? Simply put, he just drove away from me. Yes, there a big disparity in weight, and he has a better Kart, but Willy has absorbed a lot of theory and clearly knows how to execute it. I appreciated that he was nice enough several times to slow down and let the old-timer catch up. It is an intense experience and you need to be thinking way, way ahead to keep up with what’s happening. No wonder so many pro drivers run karts to keep themselves in tune. Try it sometime- seriously. If you have not signed up to attend P2O this year in Granville, make sure that you get on with it and go! This year’s P2O is going to be a winner! We are already on track for a record event and the town of Granville will be a super location. The layout is going to be a bit more compact than it was in Oxford which we think will make the party even more festive. The host hotel is the Cherry Valley lodge, which is big enough to house practically everyone who comes, and this year we have shuttle service to and from the event site courtesy of Byers, so you can get back and forth from the party in town as you wish- or perhaps allow a significant other to sleep in and arrive in town after a leisurely morning of swimming or, golf. As you can see, things have definitely Heated Up! So make plans to come out for some MORPCA activities....See you out there! I’ll try to bring the parrot to something during my 2% of the year. Our Club Race and Driver’s Ed is also coming up soon so make plans to get to the track August 17th through 19th. The DE is primarily for advanced drivers, but we are still hoping to find a way to include an intermediate skill, instructed group in the mix to allow more of our local club people to have access to this prime weekend. More details on that later... 5 The Board Elected Officers PRESIDENT * VICE PRESIDENT * TREASURER * SECRETARY * John Brandt Michael Stoner Kevin Hennessy Betsy MacDonell 3042 Crescent Drive 4200 Dublin Rd. 716 Curve Rd. 320 Medick Way Columbus, OH 43204 Columbus, OH 43221 Delaware, OH 43015 Worthington, Ohio 43085 (614) 275-1744 (614) 777-8751 (740) 369-1595 (614) 885-8413 targaflorio911@hotmail.com mds@columbus.rr.com treasurer@morpca.org betsymac@columbus.rr.com NEWSLETTER EDITOR * MEMBERSHIP * ACTIVITIES * DRIVING EVENTS * Bill Slone Trina Allison Gerhard Hillmann Frank Todaro 690 Tami Sue Ct. 4171 Bidle Ct. 121 S. Published Monthly by the Mid–Ohio Region, Porsche Club of America The PCA slogan “It’s not just the cars, it’s the people” became apparent to me again at the Rolex weekend at Mid-Ohio. At my usual spot on top of the keyhole on Friday, there was a gentleman sitting in the same area I was whose shirt had a Porsche Crest on it. After a while, I said hello & as we got to talking, I found out his name is Jim Grabowski, and is a PCA member from Bowling Green in the Maumee Valley Region. We soon realized we had a lot in common, and talked the rest of the day (Jim currently has a ‘99 Boxster, but previously owned a 914 and a 944 turbo). On Saturday, our region’s VP Mike Stoner joined our little group (by now it included my wife and Jim’s son). Mike and Jim swapped Boxster stories & discussed the new Boxster model. Mike and I invited Jim to “MORPCA Platz” for some shade and water. While we all lamented that there were no Porsche powered Daytona Prototypes in the race, it was certainly a good weekend. It really is “about the people”! Editor Bill Slone 690 Tami Sue Ct. Westerville, OH 43082 (614) 890-6388 wslone@sbcglobal.net Membership Trina Allison 4171 Bidle Ct. Volunteers, Save the Date, Volume III: We still need many volunteers for the Club Race on August 17-19. With the way the weather has been, I don’t think we have to worry about the event being a “rain out”. Please review the volunteer form on page 17 & either send me the form or email me about which day(s) and area you want to work. All volunteers will receive lunch, the Saturday night dinner, and a volunteer T-shirt. As one of our Club Race participants stated, “Without volunteers, the event will not happen”. Please consider volunteering for this event. No one will be turned down! Contributions to the newsletter are encouraged and should be in the hands of the editor by the 10th of each month for the following month’s issue. Board News: After a brief stay in the hospital, Technical Chairperson Doug Harris has decided to take a back seat (hopefully not the back seat of a 911!), and concentrate on his recovery. Member Jeff Brubaker of Kraftwerks Performance will be assuming the Technical duties. Many of you know Jeff from the informative Trickle Charged Saturdays he has presented. Please welcome Jeff to the Board! PORSCHE®, the Porsche Crest Design®, CARRERA®, 911®, TARGA®, CAYENNE®, PORSCHE SPEEDSTER®, BOXSTER®, CAYMAN®, PANAMERA®, FOUR, UNCOMPROMISED.®, PORSCHE. Bill 7 Third Thursday’s New Season Article & photos by Bill Slone The 2012 Third Thursday season was kicked off at the Claddagh Irish Pub. A perfect May evening greeted over 20 cars and members. The event started with everyone parking their freshly polished cars, caught up with each other about finished(?) winter projects, and plans for summer outings. Eventually we moved to the patio for food and drink, then listened to the sounds of Darryl Gatlin and his band. Some of us were even “serenaded” by the band! New event sponsor Midwestern Auto Group was there to help hand out gift cards and promote the Porsche marque. As the evening wore down, we all made plans to attend the June Third Thursday at Quaker Steak & Lube. This promises to be a very good season of Third Thursdays! 8 July 2012 August 1, 2012 Easton Town Center 4:00pm - 9:00pm The Bobby Rahal Foundation will host the inaugural “Rally for the Ranch” at Easton Town Center on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. The event is being held in conjunction with the IndyCar Series stop at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Visitors to Easton will be amazed to see the streets filled with a wide array of extremely collectable vintage, race and street cars. Live music and Easton’s usually festive atmosphere will make this a great evening. This event is free to the public. The Rally for the Ranch banquet will also be held on August 1st at The Hilton at Easton. 300 VIP guests will be invited to attend this lavish dinner coupled with fine wine and a charity auction. Each table will be hosted by a celebrity. Sponsorship opportunities are listed on the reverse side of this flyer. All proceeds benefit The Buckeye Ranch. Since 1961, The Buckeye Ranch has provided hope and healing to children and families who suffer from emotional, behavioral and mental health issues. Today, The Ranch serves clients from all over Ohio. Every day, more than 1,600 children and families are in the care of The Buckeye Ranch. Our tent provided relief from the early summer heat and a special parking area for our cars. Plenty of needed water was available and door prizes were awarded, courtesy of this year’s sponsor, Byer’s Imports. Although the Porsche results weren’t as planned at the Grand Prize Winner! Spencer Pumpelly...Finally! Rum Bum Racing Photo from Grand Am website 10 finish, the Rum Bum Racing Porsche Carrera did take pole position and finished 3rd in the Grand Sport class of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. As a side note, after waiting for almost a year for Spencer Pumpelly to return to MidOhio, and waiting in line for over an hour in the hot sun, your editor finally got the final autograph of the driver lineup on a picture of the 2011 Le Mans Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche entries. Now I can get the poster framed! This year will feature Cadillac celebrating 110 years, 45 years each of the Chevrolet Camaro & Mercury Cougar. This is central Ohio’s premier car-related event – attracting more than two thousand display vehicles each year. This unique Dublin setting is perfect for a car show – with Porsche having Saturday’s prime parking area in the grass, under the trees by the pond. The Arthritis Foundation Show is being promoted as a multiregion Porsche Club of America event and thus we hope to have numerous entries from the surrounding Regions. The 1st Place winner and the Award of Excellence winners from each of the 7 classes will be announced and receive their awards at the Porsche display area by 3:00 p.m. Also presented at that time will be the Floyd Acton Award -given annually to a MORPCA member who best exemplifies the spirit of PCA and the friendships it creates. Last year’s winners Bill Blake will be given a ‘keeper trophy’ as he passes the real one onto the 2012 recipient. The Best of Show Porsche award winner will be announced and presented from the main stage. Contact Andy Trux at andrewtrux@cs.com or Peter Norman Jr. at quadcam928s@ yahoo.com for further information. Register online at www.arthritisautoshow.com. Registration is now open! The website also has some great pictures from past years’ auto show. Pre-registration deadline is June 22nd.. All pre-registrants will receive a commemorative present. On Saturday, July 7h, you’ll have a full day at the exciting Classic Auto Show, with 47 judged classes of automobiles and vintage motorcycles on display, special Show-Within-A-Show groups and several regional events taking place. Rock ‘N’ Roll Oldies will spin all day long, followed by a fantastic live concert by The Van Dell’s in the evening! Plan also to attend the Friday, July 6th Cruise-In, which has become the largest event of its kind in Ohio. More than 1,200 street rods, muscle cars, vintage cars, European exotics and other cruisers from the 1920s to the present will make their appearance. 28-years of tradition will continue with a presentation of over 100 awesome 6-foot-high trophies to the Top Cruise-In cars. A huge variety of terrific food will be available at the concession stands, so plan to come early and spend the entire day with your family and friends, enjoying the Phil Dirt and the Dozers concert in the evening! Saturday morning the gates open from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Porsche Show-Within-A-Show will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Like last year, there is no formal judging; this will be a ‘Peoples Choice’ show. The registered participants will be voting on 7 Porsche classes broken down by the data from prior year’s models and this year’s pre-registration attendance. We will also have a display only class. We invite all of our Porsche drivers, including those not actively participating in the show, to come out to the Dublin Metro Center to enjoy plenty of lawn parking in the shade, great eats and the wonderful fellowship that is always the hallmark of the Arthritis Foundation’s Classic Auto Show & Cruise-In. 16 July 2012 Annual Putnam Park Driver Education: July 7 – 8, 2012 The Mid-Ohio Region (MORPCA) is hosting its annual driver education (DE) event at Putnam Park Road Course, Mt. Meridian, Indiana. MORPCA was one of the first clubs to hold a driver education at Putnam Park. This year we will have plenty of track time, if necessary we will purchase extra track time to give you the best value in a DE. Track will go hot at 8am instead of 9am. Putnam is a favorite among racers as well as beginning drivers. The 1.8 mile long, ten turn road course is an excellent layout. It makes for a terrific place to begin your high performance driving experience or continue with skill refinement. Our two day event will include extensive track time as well as class room instruction. PCA instructors will be assigned to each driver. Dan Clarke, a professional Indy driver, will return again this year to offer personal oneon-one instruction. We will also offer touring laps at lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. For about 20 minutes you can go out on the track at touring lap speeds (never exceeding normal highway speeds). You can practice your line, locate landmarks for braking, turn in points, etc. and best of all you can take your family along. Yes, children can go too as long as they wear proper restraints. No helmets, just seat belts. Again this year, we will use www.clubregistration.net for student and instructor registration. Please note that instructors must be a current MORPCA approved instructor to sign up, if you have questions please contact the Chief Driving Instructor, Jeff West at rb101@windstream.net . That makes it one of the more interesting tracks in NASCAR. The track became egg shaped due to the owner not wanting to give up his pond. Southerners love their NASCAR but they love their fishing too. A few of the more interesting moments during our fun filled day: Some amazing saves in the 6 cone slalom by a number of entrants. The slalom tightened up towards the end and provided a real workout and some thrills (silly us). The 1971 Pontiac Tempest almost grinding the rims into the pavement as the high profile tires folded underneath the car. The quickest Evo lifting the rear inside wheel in a few corners and the quickest 911’s lifting the front inside wheel in the same corners. The first MOR autocross had to deal with an immovable object also- ours, however, was a Buick. We tried going behind it, going in front of it, moving it and over it. We settled on safety and went in front of it. And you know what? The course was all the better because of it. As this event was shared with the Mercedes Benz club the normal classifications were not used for Porsche so I have listed the top 5 overall and the top 5 Porsches. Summer arrived early in Columbus on May 19th and so did the cars. They kept coming and coming. We ended up with a nice round 50 entrees. We had all kinds too. The SCCA guys came out in full force and brought a pair of Mitsubishi Evo’s, a BMW 3 series body that looked like it was set on an Indy car chassis, and a couple of Subaru WRX’s. Other unique entrants included a Formula Ford, 1971 Pontiac Tempest, Subaru Forester (can you say tippy) and a Hyundai. We had a nice collection of 11 Porsches including a GT3, a Boxster, a 928, two 944 Turbos, and six 911’s. Overall: 1. Brian Robertson 04 Mitsubishi Evo 58.643 FTD 2. Garrick 89 BMW SI 59.352 3. Bernie Doran Formula Ford 59.373 4. Aaron Ritch 04 Porsche GT3 59.595 5. Joe Reinacher 08 Misubishi Evo 60.457 Porsche Results: 1- Aaron Ritch 04 GT3 59.595 2 - Mike Tepley 02 911 61.059 3 - Jeff Dupler 84 911 62.840 4 - Dave Wenger 79 911 63.599 5 - Fabian Donnet 87 944 Turbo 64.492 To give everyone a nice run for their money, we continued to use both lots for a nice long course. Most drivers probably found a section that they truly loved and probably a section that gave them a bit of a challenge too. Dave Wenger, Jeff Dupler and Jim Rybak put together a course that provided some very fast sections, a long slalom and a very open sweeper that allowed the young and the young at heart to drift a little bit and feel fast and furious. Womens: 1-Erica Pepper 99 Miata 68.374 This was a great event to start out the 2012 MORPCA autocross season. Don’t be shy next time and come out and share in the fun with a bunch of car crazy people just like you. We can always use more cars and folks who love driving them. The neat thing about an autocross of this size is that you will see first timers mixing it up with the fast guys and everything in between. There were drivers demonstrating the best lines through the course and some demonstrating the worst lines through the course. You could see live and right in front of you what severe understeer looks like and with the next car see what severe oversteer looks like. When it was your turn to drive you could experience the same. Check the calendar in this newsletter for upcoming autocrosses. 20 July 2012 PCA AUTO-X SCHEDULE - 2012 (MOR, NOR, OVR, MVR, ALR and EBR Regions) DATE 4/29 5/19 5/20 6/3 7/1 8/12 9/9 10/20 DAY Sunday Saturday Sunday Sunday Sunday Sunday Sunday Saturday EVENT IRAC 1 MOR Local with M-B Club IRAC 2 IRAC 3 IRAC 4 IRAC 5 IRAC 6 IRAC 7 HOST OVR MOR NOR MOR MVR OVR MOR ALR LOCATION Kil-Kare Speedway OSU Buckeye Lot at Ackerman Road Lakeland Community College Columbus Motor Speedway Owens Community College TBD Columbus Motor Speedway TBD MOR JEFF DUPLER (jdupler@columbus.rr.com) COLUMBUS MOTOR SPEEDWAY 1845 Williams Road Columbus, Ohio 43207 MOR JEFF DUPLER (jdupler@columbus.rr.com) LIVE OAKS VOCATIONAL SCHOOL 5956 Buckwheat Road Milford, Ohio 45150 OVR TERRY WEISS (weiss10@fuse.net) MIKE NORRIS (michael.norris@wright.edu) KIL-KARE SPEEDWAY 1166 Dayton-Xenia Road Xenia, Ohio 45385 OVR TERRY WEISS (weiss10@fuse.net) MIKE NORRIS (michael.norris@wright.edu) LAKELAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE 7700 Clocktower Drive Willoughby, Ohio 44094-5198 NOR JOHN HULICK (kingcone@aol.com) DOUG BRADLEY (bradleyd@adelphia.net) HARTVILLE MARKETPLACE 1289 Edison Street NW Hartville, Ohio 44632 EBR ANDREW BOROWIEC (borowiec@uakron.edu) WALT SODUK (walter_soduk@yahoo.com) JOHN KOONTZ (jpkoontz@aol.com) OWENS COMMUNITY COLLEGE 30335 Oregon Road Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 MVR GREG HERR (greg.herr@us.o-i.com) BEAVERRUN MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX 201 Penndale Road Wampum, Pennsylvania 16157 ALR ROB HOFFMAN (rob@77designco.com) SCOTT MORES (moresscott@yahoo.com) LOCATIONS: OSU BUCKEYE PARKING LOTS Ackerman Road at SR 315 Columbus, Ohio 43202 SCHEDULE (All except EBR): 8:30-10:00 Registration ($25.00) and Tech Inspection 10:00-10:30 IRAC events - Drivers' Meeting & Tech Session 10:30 First Car Off SCHEDULE (EBR only): Confirm at www.ebrpca.org POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL LOCAL EVENTS: All information noted above is subject to change. The Porsche 918 Spyder is on the road: Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has taken the driving trials of the super sports car of the future a step fur-ther with completion of the initial prototypes. The 918 Spyder will go into production at the end of September 2013 as planned, with the first customers receiving their vehicles before 2013 is out. “What we are doing with the 918 Spyder is redefining driving fun, efficiency and performance,” said Wolfgang Hatz, Member of the Executive Board Research and Development of Porsche AG. operating strategies and the development of the software to go with them are one of Porsche’s core competences. Both of them have a major influence on the extreme driving fun to be had with the 918 Spyder and they make possible a unique combination of minimal fuel consumption and maximum perform-ance. The initial results of the driving trials are in line with the high expectations placed on the 918 Spyder. The super sports car is designed as a plug-in hybrid vehicle combining a high-performance combustion engine with cutting-edge electric motors for extraordinary performance: on the one hand, the dynamics of a racing machine boasting more than 770 hp, on the other hand, fuel consumption in the region of three litres per 100 kilometres. Moreover, Porsche is breaking yet more new ground with the technology demonstrator with spectacular solutions such as the full carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque with unit carrier, fully adaptive aerodynamics, adaptive rear-axle steering and the upward-venting “top pipes” exhaust system. In the process, the 918 Spyder is offering a glimpse of what Porsche Intelligent Performance may be capable of in future. The prototypes, their camouflage harking back to historical Porsche 917 racing cars, signal the final touches to the 918 Spyder. The focus is on the interplay between the highly sophisticated individual drive components. The combination of combustion engine and two independent electric motors – one on the front axle and one in the drive line, acting on the rear wheels – poses completely new demands on the devel-opment of the operating strategies. “They are therefore a critical component in this vehicle into which we have put all of our expertise and capacity for innovation,” said Wolfgang Hatz. These 22 July 2012 MORPCA Monthly Board Meeting Minutes May 9, 2012 Submitted by Betsy MacDonell, Secretary John launched into a discussion about upcoming club activities because someone asked if MORPCA was hosting a hospitality tent at the Vintage Race this year. Last year, Porsche was the marque and the club subsidized the admission ticket to help generate traffic to the event. About 53 people took advantage of the subsidy which totaled about $1060 from the club. John wants to use our participation at the big track events as leverage for continued advertizing from Mid-Ohio in DOS. He was successful in getting the tent at the Grand-Am event and continued advertizing from Mid-Ohio. The board had voted to fund the tent expenses at a previous meeting. The bad news from Ron Carr was that there will not be a PorschePlatz this year at the ALMS race. After some discussion that included getting a car corral area for the Vintage Race, Mike made a motion with Kevin as a second to not do a hospitality tent with food for the Vintage Race this summer. The motion passed. The bulk of the club effort will be at the ALMS race. Ron made a motion with Bill as a second to fund a hospitality tent with food, chairs and tables at the ALMS race. The total cost will not exceed $2500. The motion passed. John will take the lead on getting the tent rented for the weekend. Members present; Ron Thomas, john Brandt, Brian Peterson, Jet Hawthorne, Eric Carene, Jeff Brubaker, Mike Stoner, Bill Slone, Betsy MacDonell, Bryan Duffie, Kevin Hennessy, Gerhard Hillmann and Bob Balchick. The meeting was held at King Avenue Restaurant and Sports Lounge and started at 6:40pm. John began with an update on the status of Doug Harris. Doug was in the hospital last week after suffering a heart attack and to have bypass surgery. The club sent cards of support to him and his family. John was able to convince the publicity people at Mid-Ohio to continue to advertize in DOS and the Club will have a car corral and tent at the Grand-Am event. John continues to work on the insurance issue at the track. He will get quotes from companies that regularly insure events for BMW and POG. He discussed this topic at the Zone 4 Presidential Meeting this year along with contracts, waivers and how best to choose instructors. Betsy read the portion of the minutes that was changed and then the minutes were approved. Ron launched immediately into the Porsches to Ohio (Porsches to Granville [PIG]) update. He summarized the meeting with the City officials where they walked and talked through the weekend logistics. The East Broadway entrance to downtown will be the site for registration for the event. All traffic will be routed there to enter the event. At least 2 Police Officers will be required for the event to keep traffic on the streets that will not be closed. The Village Town house has been rented so the parking lot will be utilized for registration. A volunteer meeting will be held at Ron’s Museum on Saturday, June 2nd. Mike will try to find a sound system for the event. Ron will observe a registration cut-off at one week before the date so the size of the event will be scaled to that number. At this time we are ahead of where we were last year for registration and MaryLynn’s Row is close to surpassing last year’s total number of entries. The charity will continue to be cancer related. Kevin informed everyone that collection efforts are working and the advertizing accounts are almost all paid in full. The newsletter is run at a break even cost basis so all sponsors need to be current. Kevin has had to tackle the long form for filing taxes for last year. The club went over a threshold for using the short form and he has had to reach out to other region treasurers to seek advice on how to fill in all the blanks. Other regions have hired an accountant to do their long form filing and MORPCA may do the same if the effort is too much for a volunteer who has an engineering background! In the Driving Events department, Frank was busy racing so the Kevin cued up his video of his recent drive around the Nüburgring in his rental car!!! Thirteen miles of non-expense account fun!! Gerhard jumped into his role of party organizer and announced the next two third Thursday events will be at Claddach Irish Pub at Polaris and then at Quaker Steak and Lube. The Westcott House Driving Tour will have a link to PayPal so Gerhard will know who plans to attend. Brian Peterson told everyone that Kevin King as access to a 22 acres paved lot and wants to do a big event there with club help. The idea evolved around the launch of the new 981Boxster. Kevin King plans to have 2 factory drivers and food so people can ride with the professionals. The event could also have an autocross element to introduce the concept to more members. It will not be an official IRAC event. The date for the event will be Sunday, July 1st. MORPCA will send out a blast using the club e-mail addresses and Byers will send out an announcement too. Bryan will update the website with new photos from the various events this year. He has launched a new calendar layout and committee members will need to check to see if their event is listed correctly. The Autocross events have submitted good articles lately and the other driving events should be detailed too. All information about Club Race will have to be approved by National before it appears on the website. The charity information appears to be in need of an update. Bryan then showed everyone the inside of the WordPress software on the big screen. Jet has been asked to add some additional charities and his response was to wait and see if the club finances allow any additional expenditures. He also said he would submit the update for the charity portion of the club website. Bill does not have a member generated article for the new DOS. The number of people that have submitted an e-mail address to national is the total number of e-mail addresses he has. That number will change after P2O when that list can be merged with the member list for huge e-mail blasts. Kevin reminded all board members to use the club e-mail address for club business purposes and stop using the personal one. If a problem happened and the club business was being investigated legally, the personal e-mails would then be open for scrutiny. Round Table Discussion • Brian – Showed everyone the shirts he made for the upcoming DE. • Kevin – He will take delivery of his track car next Friday!! It is a 1997 silver 993 RS clone that he found in Charlotte, NC. The meeting adjourned at 9:01 pm. The next meeting will be held at King Avenue Five Restaurant and Sports Lounge on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 6:30 pm. Plan to meet everyone for pre-meeting social time around 6 pm.
