Like last year, some things may work out great, but there is always a possibility of bumps along the road. We are always striving to improve our recital process and implement new ideas that transcend the norm. Our goal is for you to have the best recital experience possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are in need of parent volunteers to assure the quality and safety of the recital weekend. Volunteers receive one complimentary recital ticket per volunteer position and exclusive pre-sale seat reservations for additional tickets. If you would like to volunteer, sign up for your preferred positions through our SignUpGenius form on our web site www.TranscenDanceStudios.com. Don’t forget to put the important dates and times on your calendars—studio dress rehearsals, theater dress/tech rehearsals and show days! If you have any questions, as always, feel free to ask. Looking forward to a great show! Sincerely, Cait Jones Director GENERAL INFORMATION TICKETS go on sale April 13 to recital volunteers and April 20 to the public. Price is $15 to $20 for the Saturday evening Big Show and Sunday matinees, depending on the seat. Company Showcase tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TranscenDanceStudios.com. Families with dancers in two shows (both matinees or a matinee and the Big Show—not Company Showcase) will be given complimentary tickets to their second show after they have purchased tickets to their first show. Complimentary tickets will be in the same seating section as the purchased tickets when possible. Tickets should be printed at home and brought with you to the show. Be sure to print the ticket with your seat number, and not just the purchase receipt. PICTURES will be taken by a professional photographer during theater dress rehearsals. Group Photos. Group photos will be taken during theater dress rehearsals as groups come off stage. We require that all dancers in a routine be present for the group photo. Group photos will be posted online for ordering. Individual & Daddy-Daughter Photos. Individual photos are not automatically taken. If you want individual or DaddyDaugher photos, you must have these taken prior to your rehearsal time. If you need to change costumes for photos, make sure you are in the correct costume and ready to go on stage as scheduled. Photos will be posted online for ordering. DVDs will be professionally filmed and are available for pre-sale. Orders are due by the recital date—May 30. Price is $32 to $35, depending on the show. No personal photography or video will be allowed in dress rehearsal or recital. (See attached DVD presale order form.) T-SHIRTS are available for pre-sale only. Price is $23 until April 30 and $25 after April 30. Last day to order is May 9. (See attached T-shirt pre-sale order form.) FLOWERS will be available for purchase in the lobby on show days. PROGRAM ADS may be purchased to recognize your dancer, family, friends or business. See the last page of this packet for more information. Mark your name on all costumes, shoes, hats, props, etc. in a place that is not visible when you are on stage. 2. No gum. 3. Diamond-like stud earrings will be the only allowed jewelry. 4. No underwear showing under costumes. 5. Makeup should be applied at home to avoid dressing room clutter. 6. No students wandering in costume in the auditorium, lobby or hallways. If you are not on stage, you should be in the dressing room or the holding area. Please, no friends or non-performing siblings in the dressing rooms. 7. All dancers are required to stay at rehearsals until dismissed by Cait. On performance day, all dancers are required to stay until after the finale at the end of the show and they are dismissed by Cait. This is a TranscenDance Studios policy. 8. Do not bring valuables with you to rehearsal or performance. 9. No food or drinks inside the auditorium, or anywhere in costume. 10. No smoking anywhere on school grounds. 11. Keep dressing rooms neat. Use the garbage cans provided and keep personal items in your dance bags. Do not bring valuables. 12. All seats are reserved. An usher will help audience members find their seats. 13. No video or photography allowed in the auditorium during dress rehearsal or recital. 14. Dancers should not be seen in the lobby or theater in costume on show date until after the show (unless they are entering or exiting the building). Costumed dancers must stay backstage and treat their recital as a professional performance. There will be no viewing of the show by dancers from the audience. Dancers can watch other numbers from the audience at dress rehearsal if the show line-up permits. 15. Remember to use the washrooms before the show and during intermission. Thank you! STUDIO & THEATER DRESS REHEARSALS are CLOSED Studio and theater dress rehearsals are closed to everyone except cast, crew and pre-arranged volunteers. Parents and visitors will not be admitted. We want family and friends to enjoy the shows on Friday and Saturday without having experienced the choreography before the many changes and refinements that can occur in rehearsal. THEATER DRESS REHEARSAL DROP OFF/PICK UP PROCEDURES Dancers should drop off dance bags and any other items in the dressing area, and then be checked in at the theater entrance. Parents of dancers that will need assistance changing costumes or shoes should remain in the lobby or dressing area. Dancers will return to the dressing area after they have taken their group picture and parents may pick up their dancers from the dressing area. Only moms will be allowed in the girls’ dressing area. Dear Parents, Each year at our annual recital we seek to make the recital experience for our dancers of all ages as positive, safe, and enjoyable as possible. In order to do this, we need parent volunteers. THANK YOU for helping us create a safe and happy environment for the dancers! Class supervisors will assist with bathroom visits, keeping the class together, and getting the dancers ready when it is their turn to perform. Class supervisors will also be with the class to escort them to and from the stage. It is a delight and lots of fun to be backstage with the children. There is another kind of show behind the scenes! Class supervisors will be able to view their dancers perform from standing room in the theater, once their class has been escorted to the backstage area. WHEN: Dads and daughters need to attend one 90-minute rehearsal to participate.
