To that end, we have created this patient guide to better acquaint you with our facilities, our philosophy and the caliber of care you will receive when you come through our doors. At Tufts Medical Center, our main goal is to treat every patient and family member as we would want our own families to be treated. We believe that the best medicine should be dispensed with the greatest compassion and the highest quality. Patients deserve nothing less. That’s our philosophy. That’s our opinion. And that’s what guides our doctors, nurses, researchers and staff every day. A Little About Us: Tufts Medical Center is a 415-bed academic medical center and the principal teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine. On our Boston campus you will find an adult hospital, a children’s hospital – Floating Hospital for Children, and outpatient physician offices as well as diagnostic and procedural services to meet your health care needs. You will also find our physicians in many more places than downtown Boston. We have offices in suburban locations and we partner with many community hospitals to ensure the best health care is close and convenient for you. Dedicated to Quality and Excellence At Tufts Medical Center, we are focused on delivering the highest quality of care to all our patients. • The University HealthSystem Consortium – the leading association for academic medical centers – has consistently ranked Tufts Medical Center in the top quartile of major academic medical centers in the country; higher than many others in Boston and New England. • U.S. News and World Report ranks many Tufts Medical Center physicians in the top 1% of all physicians nationally. • Boston Magazine recognizes Tufts Medical Center physicians in 45 different specialties in the “Top Doctors” edition. • For two years, Boston Business Journal readers named Tufts Medical Center as a top health care brand in the region – one year in 1st place and another in 2nd.
