“Still Cruising After All These Years”
Greetings Fellow Cal-Rods:
It’s been a busy & warm 3 months with lots of Car Shows & Cruises to
show off our cars & admire others. On July 10th the Cal-Rods celebrated
“Collectors Car Appreciation Day” at the IN-N-OUT on Grand Ave. in
Covina. We had a great turnout with our members & their Cars.
The Cal-Rods Social Events continue to draw many members & their
Cars. A special thanks goes to Don Baker for setting up these Events. In
June we had our Dinner Social at “Michelangelo’s” in San Dimas. In July we had a Breakfast
Social at the “Village Eatery” in Glendora. In August it was lunch at “Kick Back Jacks” in
Claremont. A Dinner Social was held at “Marie Callender’s” in West Covina in September.
All of these events were well attended & we thank you for your attendance. Please come on
out & join us for the next great meal & a chat. Bring your Hot Rod, Custom or Classic.
A large number of Cal-Rods showed up at “Solvang Wheels ‘N Windmill’s Car Show”.
Although only 14 Cal-Rods Cars were entered in the show, I counted 35 members in attendance. Rich Ralstin & Georgia Coble took home trophies. The Cal-Rods placed 2nd in entries.
Christmas just around the corner? Not exactly, but it’s just a little over two months until our
Annual Christmas Party. Please set aside Saturday, December 5th for the Cal-Rods Annual Christmas Party.
We have upcoming elections coming up this November. Nominations will be taken at the
October meeting. Newly elected Board Members will take their place on the Board in
January, 2016.
Keep on Cruising! Jack Ferguson, Cal-Rods President
Message from Mike Thompsett, Treasurer: Annual Membership Dues of $25.00 will become due for
most members on 1-1-16. We encourage you to submit your payment in either check or cash as soon as
you can. Bring the payment to me at any General Membership Meeting or mail it to Cal-Rods Car Club, PO
