HEIFER INTERNATIONAL works with smallholder farmers in more than
30 countries to provide and empower self-reliance and ensure economic
security. Since 1944, Heifer International has empowered more than 20.7
million families—105.1 million people—to improve their own lives as well as
their communities through the gift of livestock, training in environmentally
sound agricultural practices and education.
ENDING HUNGER AND POVERTY
Mirroring last year’s theme, the event will raise awareness and, more
important, resources for marginalized women and their families worldwide.
Heifer realizes the integral role that women have in our mission of ending
hunger and poverty and we will celebrate the active commitment of women
dedicated to positively impacting countless others to achieve their dreams of
hope, happiness and prosperity.
During Emmy Awards week 2014, Heifer International will hold its 3rd Annual
Beyond Hunger event at the beautiful Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The event will
offer corporations a platform to reach new audiences and build awareness of
their commitment and support of:
•
•
•
•
Empowering Women
Enabling girls’ education
Promoting women’s entrepreneurship
Fostering overall gender equity and justice
Additionally, the event will:
•
•
•
Focus on Heifer’s work to end hunger and poverty worldwide
Build on the three-quarter billion media impressions from past
Beyond Hunger events to raise awareness of Heifer International
and our sponsors
Further expand, engage and strengthen our celebrity support for
Heifer’s work with the entertainment community
