PO Box 513 Mifflinville, PA. 18631 PH.570-759-9304 gbvanart@msn.com February 2015 We had our first chapter gathering on the new day of the first Saturday of the month on February 7th. There were 21 people in attendance. We have a few people that are still in Florida, and a few that are having some medical issues. Joani Smith had surgery on her ankle last week, Steve Falk had a medical procedure done, Jackie Kalck has come home after 5 days in the hospital after an infection, and Mary Ann Pratt has some medical issues as well. Here’s wishing them all a speedy recovery. I think we had a first for the 50/50 as well. All of the winners Bob Paton, Ben Robinson, and Doug Taylor pulled their own number out of the bag. Tom and Bobbe Smith won the free 50/50 ticket. We are looking into getting new shirts for the chapter. Information will be distributed when we have all the details worked out. The schedule for the meetings and rides we have so far for the year is posted on the website. It will be updated as we add new events. We still need someone to organize the spring and fall rides. We had some suggestions for rides after the meetings. We will look into some of them and will add things to our schedule later. I still need your input for places for the quarterly dinner rides. Let me know if you have a good restaurant in your area you think the group would like. We had our annual bowling challenge in Downingtown on February 8th. We had members from PA-H and PA-V attend the event. This year Chapter-A took all of the top honors. High male score went o Doug Taylor with a 205. Gloria Paules took high female with a 191, and Chapter-A had the highest team average with a 168. We finally got to bring home the bowling pin. Let’s see if we can do it again next year. Our first dinner for the year will be at Carrabba’s in Frazier at 3PM on February 22nd. Let me know by February 16th if you plan to attend so I can make reservations. Call me at 610-970-0991. Ben Robinson I CAN DO THINGS YOU CANNOT, YOU CAN DO THINGS I CANNOT, TOGETHER WE CAN DO GREAT THINGS!! Mother Theresa The Lost Keys After a meeting several days ago, I couldn't find my keys. I > quickly gave myself a personal "TSA Pat Down." > > They weren't in my pockets. Suddenly > I realized I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I > headed for the parking lot. My husband has scolded me many > times for leaving my keys in the car's ignition. > He's afraid that the car could be stolen. As I looked around the parking lot, I realized he was right. > > Luckily the was empty. I immediately > called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I > had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen. > > Then I made the most difficult call of > all to my husband: "I left my keys in the car and > it's been stolen." > > There was a moment of silence. I thought > the call had been disconnected, but then I heard his voice. > "Are you kidding me?" he barked, > "I dropped you off!" > > Now it was my turn to be silent. > Embarrassed, I said, "Well, come and get > me." > > He retorted, "I will, as soon > as I convince this cop that I didn't steal your > car!" It would be our pleasure to be your hosts and show you the beautiful Annapolis Valley area and other parts of our province. If you are wondering how to get here there are really three ways to make it easy for you to come to the Rally. If you would like a longer ride and see some other parts of Atlantic Canada, you can enter Canada through Calais, Maine into St. Stephen New Brunswick and follow the roads to the Rally, Or in Saint John, New Brunswick you may decide to take the Ferry to Digby and again follow the roads to the rally. The third option is to drive to Portland, Maine and take the Nova Star overnight ferry to Yarmouth, and then follow the roads for approximately 2.5 hours to the Rally Anyway, that you decide to come you will be driving through beautiful scenery that is Atlantic Canada. Once again, I extend our invitation to you to make the trip and share this wonderful event with us and let us provide you with a real Canadian Welcome. If you have questions on anything about the rally, hotels, the roads, the ferries or just want to talk, please feel free to call me at any time at 1-902-834-2179 if I am not available please leave a message and I will return your call. Please make 2015 the year you Come to Canada. Sincerely Noel Facey Rally Committe Is Celebrating... ...and we’re having a PARTY!
