TWR So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Marvin and Landrie Heath Marvin and Landrie Heath August 2011 August 2011 Frontline News Romans 10:17 Dear Ones, What blessings we enjoyed the past several weeks with great times of fellowship with family and special friends. None more memorable than with our grandkids. Of course, Grandma put pictures on the back of this letter. What a joy it is to watch our kids in action as parents and then see their own growth as adult children of God! We will long remember some recent precious moments of spiritually walking together in fervent prayer for our immediate family. Wow! We are so grateful for the closeness that only comes through our Lord Jesus. We love you and we always need your prayers! Thank you so much for praying for us, our family and our serving the Lord with TWR! Because He Lives, “LASTING FRUIT” Since we served with TWR-Bonaire for many years, we were greatly encouraged by the testimony from this listener who now lives in the U.S. Maria (not her real name) had grown up on a farm in a rural area in Colombia not far from Venezuela, South America. Maria’s mother came to know the Lord through the programs of Radio Trans Mundial - RTM (TWR-Bonaire). The signal was loud and clear. Maria’s mother especially loved the program, A Través de la Biblia - ATB (Thru the Bible). She would make all six children sit down every day and listen to ATB as part of their routine. She taught them about the Lord through listening to RTM. Maria described her mother as a praying woman who would fast and pray with her children on many occasions. She prayed fervently for the ministry of RTM, which she loved with all her heart. They would all listen to RTM on a battery operated radio. When the batteries got low, Maria’s mother would hit the radio, take out the batteries and put them by the wood fire overnight. In the morning she would put them back in the radio. They would last for the next 8 days. As a result of her faithful listening and prayers, all of her children accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Maria says they came to know Christ through the RTM ministry from TWR-Bonaire. As a child, Maria’s life was filled with terror. Her father would come home drunk and would beat her mother. He would come in the house with a machete. All the kids would hide. They suffered terribly from his abuse and from the demons he brought with him when he would come home. They would cry out claiming the blood of Jesus to cover and protect them from Satan and his demons. By the time Maria was 5 years old she knew Psalm 91 by heart. Maria’s mother didn’t know how to read but after listening to ATB, she had memorized portions of Scripture. When she would say to the children, “Okay, now we’re going to read,” they would all quote Psalm 91 together. Maria said, “That’s how we all read. When we ran out of the house into the fields to hide from our father, we would quote Psalm 91 to remind ourselves that God would protect us from the snakes.” For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, lest you strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample down (Psalm 91:11-13). As far as she knew, Maria’s father never accepted Christ. He left them and went to Venezuela, where he later died. We thank God for Maria’s 83-year old mother, who has recently gone to be with the Lord. She was the greatest prayer warrior of her family and also one of TWR’s most faithful listeners and prayer supporters. The family is comforted in the promise from the Word of God that their mother is with the Lord whom she loved and served. Maria, 38 years old, has 2 children who have also come to know the Lord as their Savior.
